I grew up in the elizabethtown school system. I NEVER hated Etown till I reached high school. of course we all dislike school sometimes and we’d rather be hanging out with friends or whatever instead of sitting in a classroom all day, but Etown is a whole different ball game. The staff does not care about its students unless you have rich, white parents that’ll give them money for new sports things that they honestly don’t need (money could’ve gone to new textbooks for certain classes or equipment for extracurriculares that ARENT sports.) The amount of racism i've witnessed at this school is sick on top of homophobia. this school has always been for the snobby kids and their stuck up parents. like i’ve said before, you’re either rich and spoiled enough that it doesn’t matter if you live in the area, your parents will pay, or you just ended up moving into the district. i’ve been in my fair share of trouble in my lifetime but never have I ever lied about it. But when i’m standing in the hallway talking to my best friend (NEAR THE WOMENS RESTROOM) a teacher comes running out of the LIBRARY, to say she knows for a fact we said the f word. we both got Saturday school because neither of us said it but neither of us were going to admit to something we didn’t do or throw the other under the buss. this school couldn’t care less about bullying but cares soooo much when a student supposedly says a word that i’ve heard half the teachers say. I attended EIS since preschool and i’m so disappointed in the way they run the high school. bullying is the biggest issue that not only I have faced, but most people I know have faced. A girl was threatening to kick my pregnant best friend in her stomach and they did NOTHING so I took it into my own hands and approached her. they basically babysat her while she screamed and cried, talk about playing victim after pushing her in the hallways and threatening her child’s life. their thought process has to be, let’s protect the “popular” kids because their parents will give us money.

Etown HS is really bad and over rated. I would stick with a county school. North Hardin has the best sports and teachers.

I have 2 children that attend this school. We moved her in april of last year and i thought the kids would have a hard time adjusting boy I was so wrong. My son didn't start until this school year and he is playing football for the school and has made a ton of friends. He is a very outgoing person. My daughter is a very reaerved person and has even made friends. Both kids are extremely happy with the school.

The low-starring reviews are right on. I moved here in seventh grade and I can feel and see the outsider part. They discriminate against outsiders in everything form sports to programs such as GSP. It was my dream from when I moved here that I wanted to get into GSP. I was a straight-A student before I went here and now my GPA has tanked even though I work harder and the curriculum is easier. With a 3.5 GPA, a 30 on my ACT, an 1840 on my SAT, medical research papers published, and more, I was denied a spot. Some of the people who did get a spot had 4.0's, but only 1 had an ACT score of higher than 26, no one took the SAT, and absolutely no one had any medical research. The education needs a lot of maintenance, yet what do they do? They break ground on an athletic complex. Genius. Most of the teachers are there just to collect a paycheck (there is the rare good teacher), the kids are stuck-up and obnoxious, and everyone hates it. Their priorities are so out of order, and it is just not a good educational environment.
