Ortiz Elementary School

My child just started this school and has special needs..When I enrolled my child I let the school know of her diagnosis and that she may have a hard time adjusting and may have outbursts.. When my child gets scared upon arrival at school in the morning the staff are really rude and have threatened to call srs on me cause of my child not wanting to attend school due to fear of large class rooms and loud noises.. I am very unhappy with this school and hope I can remove my child from it..These people are a Joke and need to do there jobs.

Earhart Environmental Magnet is a one of a kind school that offers unique experiences for their students, parents, and community! All 3 of my boys attended this school and they were enriched beyond anything I've ever experienced in a learning environment. The teachers are committed to the environmental curriculum and inspiring their students to be the difference the world needs! The camping and outdoor adventures have left lasting memories for my boys and family! The best school in our Wichita school district!

My son has been suspended from this school twice this year with only goin on one side of stories no reason to why he is acting the way he is in class lack of attention when it comes to the students lack responsibility and usd259 public guidelines I was disrespected by one of the staffs throw the suspension papers on the floor instead of placing then in my hand lack respect for the parents not enough teachers to help every kid in need , just alot and mind you my son is in kindergarten

McLean is a highly achieved elementary school ranked in the top 5 STEM magnet schools in the state. In recent years, students have consistently obtained scores above State Assessment averages within categories such as Math, Reading, and Science. Nearly 95% of students score at or above “proficient” on their State Science Assessments significantly outperforming state averages. This is all the more impressive when considering the fact that a significant number of the school’s population comes from low income backgrounds. McLean boasts numerous award winning teachers who are beyond dedicated to the profession and the students they serve. As a teacher of college credit science courses myself, I find that a high proportion of my top performing students attended McLean. It has been a joy to see my own children thrive at this school. As a parent and educator, it is a joy to know that my kids are being given a world class education at McLean that will eventually allow them to compete at the highest of academic levels elsewhere.

They can do better especially with dealing with kids who are seems to be very emotional and sensitive, there has been multiple times where staff yell at students and get mad over something that is not in there control, don’t recommend.

I really like the fact that my baby girl is learning Spanish and English I am a bilingual parent and I do my part also to help, the teachers are great and are always willing to help the only dislike is the location of the school.
