This school doesn’t care about lower income students and families and failed all three of my kids
Posted by a parent on 6/15/2024Keeping your kids involved and communicating with them about school and all aspects is important for overall well being of your children. My kids played sports and had a great core friend group.
Posted by a parent on 8/3/2023My boys enjoyed the swim team and took several AP courses. They had several engaging and encouraging teachers. The school was recently refurbished and looks awesome inside. Just as good or better than Free State.
Posted by a parent on 6/16/2023My son and daughter both attended LHS. Excellent teaching staff, particularly in the AP classes. Outstanding orchestra, band and choral programs. Debate and forensics students compete at national levels. Overall, a great experience.

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended school here and had so many behavioral issues due to staff and peers. She was bullied and jumped by a bunch of 4th graders at recess and the principle refused to have 3rd and 4th graders have recess at separate times. I pulled my daughter from this school in Nov 2024 and immediately we seen great results at her new school in a new district. She had so many emotional issues at New York that we had to pull her. Which the right thing to do. Don't send your children to Usd497. Trust a parent who had 2 kids in this district. It was a nightmare and costed us thousands of dollars to correct by moving and getting our children therapy because of this district.
