South Newton Senior High School

There are several good teachers, however, the conservative nature of this school runs much deeper than the embarrassing mascot. My friends and I faced constant sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, and all other kinds of bullying. The administration did little to prevent this.

I so far have only gone to the high school for a semester since I was gone for a semester freshman year, but I have been here for a couple years. This school is truly horrible. There are issues with bullying that my friends or I have been victim of directly and all they did most recently, aka November, was move him a few tables during lunch. They have a horrible bullying approach. Student who have as this website calls them, learning differences, as another review said are just told to go to Tri-County. This school doesn't how that much variety academically which is very upsetting seeing as for me personally all the careers I want to go into, this school cannot help me with a single one. Some of the teachers are very well, horrible people. If you really want to send your child here, don't. Especially if they are in the LGBTQ+ community. Some of the teachers here have been proven to be against the community and it is very disheartening. When it comes their homework policy they don't have one, but the teachers may just give you a detention and not let you explain why its not turned in on time at all. There are some very good teachers at this school who make it so the school is tolerable. The new principal is also very bad. He doesn't have a proper approach to anything. My friend got in trouble for not going to school when she was a virtual student due to COVID-19 and I myself can testify that she did go to every class as I had multiple classes with here and was virtual most of the time she was at this school before she transferred due to the principal's lack of respect for his students. Several other people I know have gotten in trouble for things that happened years ago, one of which happened before the principal had even become a part of this school. If you can PLEASE send your child to another school. Unless they are a great athlete or a perfect student or both, they will be kicked to the curb. I highly recommend any other nearby school or a K-12 online program.

The principal of this school is not interested in helping the kids, he is interested in how the school looks rates. I would not recommend this school if you want somewhere that really cares about the students.
