I wouldn't recommend sending your children here
Posted by a parent on 12/3/2021A phenomenal school with tremendous teachers and administrators. Parent involvement is not near where it needs to be, but has improved steadily over the last few years.
Posted by a parent on 1/3/2019This used to be a wonderful school with a strong family and community feeling. Recently there has been a lot of turnover. The principal has been very disrespectful to me as a parent. I would not recommend this school.

I love the Montessori combined classroom approach that lets the children achieve and acquire skills that they might not otherwise be exposed to

Not only are scholars provided a rigorous education the expectation of success is also present. The staff at PLA 48 are caring and are willing to address any concerns. My scholar is in Kindergarten and started later in the year after arriving from Nigeria!. I must say her teacher went above and beyond to welcome her. She was so excited to share that her teacher had shown Akili and me a very popular preschool program in Nigeria. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a current 8th Grade student in this school, I love it. The style of schooling might not be for everyone but I really enjoy it. I've been here since kindergarten and loved everything from elementary to middle school. I'm mostly leaving this review as I've noticed some very negative reviews from years back when middle school was just developing. Now though the middle school is great with tons of amazing teachers. Their kindness, patience, encouragement, and genuine love for their students made Pre-K such a special and memorable year.Not only has our daughter grown academically, but we’ve also watched her confidence, independence, and manners blossom throughout the year. She comes home excited to learn, eager to share new skills, and has developed such a thoughtful and respectful way of interacting with others, all thanks to the nurturing environment these amazing teachers created.It’s truly heartbreaking to reach the end of the school year because of how wonderful they’ve been, but we’re also so excited to continue our journey into Junior Kindergarten. Thank you, St. Richards, for giving our child such a strong, joyful, and caring foundation for learning.
