Our Lady School

I remember crying for a week straight because of how scared I was of letting my special needs child (Rett syndrome) go to school. And then when she got on that bus that first day I cried like a baby knowing I wasn't ready but I had to be because she was. When I say I'm so grateful for how Holland has treated my baby these past 4 years. Words cannot describe the happiness I feel knowing my baby is at the best school for her. Not only has she progressed so much but she's genuinely happier since being at Holland. Some days I even think she likes school better than home. She has such an amazing team there and especially her teacher Mrs. Taylor. If it was up to me that would be her teacher until graduation. I've gone to every field trip with rose and from what I've seen Mrs. Taylor is the type of teacher that makes you want to go to school. The way she interacts with the kids is the most beautiful thing. I swear I love that school so much and for my kids to love it even more makes my heart so happy. If you're a parent in Fort Wayne with a special needs child Holland is the absolute best school. I wouldn't want my kids anywhere else. I haven't met a teacher there yet that didn't overexceed my expectations and I have high expectations. Both my kids love this school so much. I wouldn't want them anywhere else.

It’s sad to say Ascension is not the school it used to be. The current employees are running it into the ground. Since we started more than half the student body base has left, and it gets blamed on “people not wanting a classical education” instead of on the staff’s behavior.Ascension expresses the type of supposed “Christian” behavior that chases people out of churches & further away from God. Don’t be fooled by their false promises as they attempt to gain back some enrollment. Unless you are benefiting them, they will not treat you or your children right. Three-four hours of homework a night given to middle schoolers by their full-time nurse “teacher”. No following through on IEP or ISPs. The head of the school board’s kids & others in their inner circle can get away with anything while other students are ridiculed to no end for the slightest bit of an imperfection.

I am a current student there at St Charles and I absolutely love being there! Everybody there is Christ-like and absolutely nice! The teachers are the best.
