Read what parents are saying about New Tech InstituteI was fortunate enough to meet one on one with the principal before the school year, and chose NTI for my son based on the opportunities and benefits available to him at this particular school. Their structure and schedule is not the same as other schools, and I believe their philosophy and teaching strategies provide an advantage for the students. Beyond the ideology, on a personal level, I have been made to feel very unwelcome by every staff member I've been in contact with since the beginning of school. Surely there are wonderful teachers in the building, but overall the staff has been condescending and rude. I would hope that even when dealing with people like myself who are apparently unintelligent and undesirable, professional staff who deal with the public could feign respect long enough to communicate effectively and without passive aggressive undertones.

Posted by a teacher on 4/3/2017My grandson entered as a freshman this August 2015 we chose New Tech Institute over other high schools because it seem to have a very good learning atmosphere, the teachers and other students were very friendly and helpful... unfortunately my grandson missed three weeks of school due to an illness but I wanted to commend New Tech's teachers, after emailing the teachers about my grandson's situation they all emailed me back with concern and said they would accept late assignments for all the classes he had missed to help his grades which I thought was very nice. The school secretary Diane is also very nice since we spoke on a daily basis about my grandsons absences and she always said that she hoped he felt better soon .My grandson really enjoys going to New Tech, he has made lots of new friends and likes all of his teachers. The principal, Mr. Gibson, seems always present and very friendly even at the end of the day, he is directing traffic to help with the kids safety of getting off the parking lotWould highly recommend New Tech Institute to anyone choosing a high school in Evansville IndianaKaren Benke

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a long term substitute at Evans. I didn't really know what to think when I was asked to take the position. The staff made me feel very welcome. All the teachers, administration, and staff members are amazing! The last day of school I was really sad the position wasn't open as a full time position. I'd gladly work at Evans and the awesome students and staff again!Teacher Review9y ago - Southern Ind Career And Tech Cent

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHoly Redeemer Catholic School is the best start for a child's education in Southern Indiana. The integrity and high morales upheld by each of the staff members contributes to an atmosphere of respect for authority, eagerness to learn, and willingness to help others in need. The dedication of staff to bring out the best in each individual student is unparalleled. Parents are encouraged to participate at all levels and all school functions. The care and support of the Holy Redeemer Church Family is another key to the success of the students. All of these elements combine to make the learning environment at Holy Redeemer School the ultimate experience for each student. I have a student at the school at this time and a high school senior who graduated from Holy Redeemer who is well on his way to a successful career. I firmly believe the quality education he received enabled him to develop the skills needed to succeed in high school and obtain the numerous scholarships which will pay for this college education. Thank you, Holy Redeemer, for all that you have done, are doing & will do for students in the future. You are the BEST school a parent could hope for!Parent Review9y ago - Evansville Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool staff needs to be trained how to be empathetic and how to deal with students who are ill especially good students.I know that there have been many students who have had similar issues with the staffor even worse. their love for the school and their position in this society has forced them to keep quiet lest anyone think any less of them and their faithfulness to the school. My love for the school has caused me to speak out and urge that not one more student suffers the way I did.Other Review9y ago - Evansville Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe had a good grade school experience at EDS, but it only lasts until 4th grade and then the 5 th graders are moved into the middle school. At that point, the middle school experience was truly awful. They don't tell the parents going from 4th grade to 5th grade, but they skip a grade level in their teaching and start teaching the 5th graders at a 6th grade level. They don't offer an accelerated program that covers the building blocks needed for learning at a faster speed. Instead, they SKIP material and the parents are left scrambling trying to understand why their child is no longer doing well in school and comes home stressed out and upset. BEWARE...THERE IS NO EDUCATIONAL METHOD IN THE UNITED STATES THAT ADVOCATES THIS STYLE OF TEACHING. They have a Social Emotional Learning program, but the educators create most of the distress that occurs in the school. Many of the parents hire tutors or tutor their children themselves in order to bridge the knowledge gaps that the school creates. This is in addition to the high tuition that the parents pay. Many of the educators have their children enrolled in the school, but they end up tutoring each other's children in order to bridge these gaps. There is a high turnover of teachers, so each year someone new is reinventing the class again. They use no text books. There is very little source material to study from that the teachers use. Your kids will need to take notes like they are in high school/college and rely on this to study from. This includes math, science, social studies and other classes. Each teacher has to invent their program, but there is such a high turnover of teachers that the program is not good. There does not appear to be a cohesive, well developed curriculum except for K-4th grade. I have never seen so many parents needing to have conferences with the teachers and leadership at a school due to problems with the curriculum. The leadership of the school remains steadfastly set in their ways and refuse to acknowledge there is a problem with the curriculum. Instead, families are told that their children are not a fit for the school. The number of parents pulling their kids out of middle school and the high school program is stunning and unusually high for a school like this. We had to pull our children out of the school to get a better math and science experience. After doing that, we discovered that our child was doing more reading and writing than at EDS. This school is not worth the tuition.Parent Review1y ago
