Your child will get a great foundation for the next step up in their educational journey here at WPS and all of the teachers are enthusiastic about their jobs, which makes absorption better for the young students.

The administration continuously dismissed and minimized the concerns voiced by students, which resulted in a multitude of unsafe experiences within the school environment. This neglect contributed to an atmosphere where students felt vulnerable and unprotected. In addition, teachers regularly failed to deliver instruction that was appropriate for the varying grade levels of their students, impeding their academic progress and engagement. The school faced recurring incidents of fights and a significant prevalence of bullying, creating a hostile atmosphere for many students. Although the administration encouraged students to report any troubling behavior by stating, "If you see something, say something," these reports often went unacknowledged or were brushed aside. As a result, the underlying issues not only persisted but often escalated, leaving students feeling increasingly frustrated and unsafe in their learning environment.

Komarek is a great school. The teachers that we have worked with truly care and want the best for the kids.

Great but the only thing i wish about schools now put the activities back so that the kids can stay kids more assembly's, celebrate holidays in these assembly's ,let the kuds pass out goodies when its required like birthdays,Christmas, Thanksgiving,Valentine's Day and Halloween, Black History, Cinco de Mayo and St Patrick's Day in Roosevelt School not going to other schools in the 89th district. Make it fun as well as learning. Thank you

As a public school teacher and a parent of two young children, I can’t say enough good things about DP. Both of my kids (one entering 1st grade and one in pre-K) are thriving, thanks to the school’s incredible early childhood program. Mrs. Martin is truly the preschool whisperer. Her calm and patient approach has been a gift to our family. When my oldest struggled to adjust, Mrs. Martin took the time to really get to know her, met her where she was emotionally, and taught her the social-emotional skills she needed to succeed. By the end of the year, she had grown so much, both academically and personally. Mrs. Caruso, the pre-k teacher, has so much love in her heart and it is felt deeply by my children. Miss Caruso, the kindergarten teacher, is bursting with creativity and energy. She makes learning fun and exciting, and brings each lesson to life in ways that truly engage the kids. My children absolutely love going to school and come home every day excited to share what they’ve learned. The small class sizes make a big difference in how supported and seen each child feels. The extended care program has also been a huge benefit for our family’s schedule, and the fact that it’s run by the early childhood teachers is an added bonus! Their summer camp is another great program that we love. Both of my kids attended before officially starting school, which gave them a fun “soft start” to get to know the school, teachers, and make friends/meet future classmates. Every summer my kids can’t wait to go back to camp. One of the best parts of our experience has been the community. The families we’ve met are welcoming and many have become close friends we spend time with outside of school. Every single family cares about DP and the children in it.
