Washington Community High School

The teachers and all the school faculty are wonderful. My son has some learning disabilities and they work with him daily with a variety of services. Truly amazing the difference this past year has made in him. I just want to thank everyone who works hard to improve our children's lives on a daily basis. Don't let the lower school rating fool you this school is a gem and the teachers are all wonderful. The school may be older than others and need some polish but what really matters is the quality of teachers and they have a wonderful bunch.

We discovered St. Patrick School when we were newly married, brand new in town, and looking to get involved in our parish. There was a position open for basketball coach, so my husband applied and got the job. We were immediately brought into the St. Patrick family - with parents inviting us out with the team, throwing a baby shower for us when we found out we were pregnant, and became lifelong friends. We moved away for a few years for work and when we found out we were being transferred to the Peoria area, the one thing we knew was that we wanted our kids to attend St. Patrick School. This truly is a community and a family. We have been supported as a family through the birth of our youngest right after we moved back, hospitalizations of our kids, and past teachers showing up for our kids even when they were in high school. The class sizes are small, teacher to student ratio is low, our sports and extracurriculars excel year after year, and our kids are able to try any activity with no cuts. This gives kids who may not have a chance to participate at a bigger school, the opportunity to try new things, become a leader and engage with other students outside of the classroom. I'm also at the high school in town and hear over and over again that teachers can tell students who went to St. Patrick because they are respectful, participate in class, and are students they can depend on to help. We have such pride in our kids attending St. Patrick School and would love to have your students there as well!

Central District 51 provides many options for all levels of academic success. We moved to this district to provide our advanced children an opportunity challenge their academic skills. While at the school, we have met families touched by Central's attention to the children who require more assistance in their education. We've been very satisfied with our kids academic success.
