Posted by a parent on 9/9/2012Canaan Academy is an Excellent school. The teachers are well qualified and will go out of their way to help the students in the school. I would definately recommend this school to parents. The school provides great structure and the students are well behaved.

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a student, I found that after the 'awe' of going to an all-girls school wore off, I began to see a lot of problems, primarily with other students who were allowed to get away with bad and disruptive behavior, while still other students were silenced for trying to address those behaviors and the disruptions. I sincerely wish the entire three years had been as good as the first six months were. While I do not wish to discourage anyone from going to CMS, I would encourage that students and parents understand they will need to speak up for what they need--this could be a good school--with a little more input from the parents, a little more acceptance of honest criticism of the staff and administration, and some real structure for dealing with student behavior problems.Student Review6y ago - Carle Auditory Oral School
