Harter Middle School

We are very happy with John Shields school for the excellent learning environment. As you walk in the school the happiness and positive outlook on learning in shown in every space. The warm inviting safe space is shown right away to all the kids. We have moved to the area and my son has learned so much at this school.Even in a classroom of 22 he gets lots of individual learning time and his goals are focused on what he needs to move up each year. The entire school really has a huge focus of reading and making sure each student will be successful in moving up a grade.The teachers and principal send out lots of notifications on school events and they really do want the family involved in learning. We are so impressed with the fun events the PTO puts out and the school has lots of safety events starting as young as a kindergarten student. The new principal and her assistant are both great listeners and have such a strong dedication to the kids of John Shields, it is inspiring as a parent to see.
