Read what parents are saying about Shiloh Middle Schoolokay for the 9 years i was in this district ok
Posted by a student on 7/13/2019Just to start I have lived in this area for 20 years, all of my children have gone to Shiloh. I lived the Elementary school. Teachers were great as well as office staff. Middle school is a whole different story. I love SOME if the teachers, others are not so nice. The children's book are well worn as they have been using the same ones for many years and not holding parents or children responsible for the condition if them. I have e-mailed two years in a row about it at the beginning if both school years and again last week. With of course no response to any of them. NOW let's talk about the school lunches. They are way beyond awful! I went to school one day for my daughter's bday to eat with her. Thank god I had a salad and sub for her what I seen on her tray was disgusting! One piece of hard white bread, 5 chicken nuggets, white beans with nothing on them and a few Mandarin oranges that had seen their better days. Of let's not forget the like warm milk! How hard is it to serve food that is no warm when it should be cold or cold when it should be warm? No wonder my child comes home starving everyday! I would not feed this stuff to our dog. She now takes her lunch! It's a shame a great school has turned into such a poor environment. Bullies on staff and in the class room. Not much else to say besides can't wait to move!
Posted by a parent on 8/29/2017This school is by far one of the best schools I have ever been too. Everyone was much more welcoming than my previous school and my current school. I made tons of friends. there is a little favoritism towards children however you can't let that bother you. It is like one big family there. The teachers are incredible, always wanting to help the students improve. 8th grade is by far the best. they have field trips, a formal dance, graduation, and Blizzard. It is there to celebrate them going to high school. Sadly i had to miss the fun parts of 8th grade due to being apart of a military family. SMS will be the absolute best place but you just have to make the effort. Also their clubs and classes are super fun. They have the best art teacher. They care about their students, I wish my new school did that. Overall Shiloh Middle School is incredible. Everyday I wish I could go back e

Posted by a parent on 1/18/2017My daughter was new to the district last year in grade school and now attends the middle school. There is a lot of favoritism towards the kids that have been there since kindergarten or have older siblings in the district. Also in the latchkey program if you are one day late on payment your child is made to sit out from the rest of group, so every other child knows they are sitting out because the parents didn't pay, and then they get made fun of. Also the school has had very poor communication with me as a parent. There have been times my child has been punished, such as a lunch detention and there was never any notification from the school regarding this. Poor communication, policies I don't agree with that result in bullying of children, and very difficult to fit in as a newcomer to this district.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe thing that my son noticed first about this schools is that everyone was kind. He was amazed that bullying gets shut down on the spot and because of the low teacher/student ratio it is always noticed. From an educational perspective, my son is thriving at Evans. The teachers here really pay attention to individual students needs.Parent Review2y ago - Marie Schaefer Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy older brothers attended this school about 35 years ago and now my daughter does. Overall it's a good school. The principal and teachers I've dealt with and are great however some of the staff aren't so much. The office administrator in particular is not very pleasant to deal with or organized/efficient so you are forced to follow up on things which is frustrating. Also, the director of the after school program doesn't seem to enjoy interacting with kids or people in general very much. It seems like every time I've picked my daughter up someone is getting in trouble and sometimes the entire group is punished for it. If they could get rid of the few bad apples this school would be perfect!Parent Review4y ago - Scott Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers were kind and child oriented. The two 5th grade teachers that my child had were very lenient with grades. My child almost had straight As for the entire school year! I don't believe the coddled approach to assignments helped prepare for middle school at all. Communication is minimal. I was not notified when there were missing assignments or difficulties in class. Band teacher voiced no concerns when my child showed up late on a daily basis.Parent Review4y ago - New Enterprise Academy

We have great public school options in the area and for families to choose St Clare as a private school option speaks volumes to the rigorous academics and extracurricular activities. We have been extremely happy with the school and faculty!Parent Review5y ago - Wingate Elementary School
