My children attended Sherrard schools last year. I relocated there on the word of a friend. Well we last one year and relocated back to quad cities. The administration, teachers are the worst I have ever come across. If you are not born and raised there you will never be in the good ole boy group and will be run down the road. I would not recommend this district for anyone. If you do relocate here remember these words. You will be sorry! FYI I had to give one star to post this they deserve zero stars in all areas. The state of Illinois needs to take this district over there test scores are the worst. which says a lot about the quality of administration and teachers. Small town living at it's best just watch the news and they will let you know by all the negative publicity their union brings on the district. Let's not work together and make the district the best it can be. The school motto should be get them before they make us do are job. Go Sherrard staff!

At this time Sherrard has gone down hill. I am a senior and the guidance offices have not prepared me for college at all. Also all the classes that I need to prepare me for my college degree I can not take bc either if doesn't fit or it's "full". And next most the teachers don't teacher you anything usefull or do not teach it well and everyone is confused and when someone asks for help they assume that they were not paying attention. Sherrard is full of snotty kids who always get their way no matter from the teachers/ administrators/ coaches. I would never send my child there because of the way they would be treated and the opportunities they would miss out on.

At this present time, if I were a parent selecting a school it would probably not be this one. There are many political games that gone on within this school system that affect the children in a very negative manner. To begin, if you have a child that is college bound you should look for a school with AP courses available. This school does not and will cost you as a parent a lot of out of pocket expense later when your child does begin their college years. (2) The high school counseling department is extremely poor in preparing the junior and seniors for their college years. The students have been told that they may not take classes that are needed for their transcripts for college because "it does not fit into their schedule," "they just do not need it" "they are not granted permission 'just because'" and "there is no need for you to take that class." They have also been given wrong information pertaining to college readiness. (3) reduction or no availability of classes that a nonathletic student would be interested in taking. No administration interest in any of the fine arts departments Lack of attendance by the administrators n teaching staff shows no support

I have 2 children who attended Sherrard all 12 years. I loved the teachers and staff at Sherrard grade when my children were there. Felt they truly cared about the kids. I wasn't thrilled with Matherville Intermediate school but I can't exactly put my finger on why, the teachers and staff seemed to care for the most part and I did go to conferences and communicate with them. I do not agree with the post that says "Stay away from this school at all costs", and my children and I are not part of the "two "W's" (wealthy and whiney)" he/she speaks of by any means. I do think there are a few teachers who do not care at all and should not be teaching anywhere. The high school counselor should definitely help seniors more in their search/direction for college. But no school is perfect. I believe the Principal and Assistant principle along with most at this school do a good job and I would recommend this school district.
