Read what parents are saying about Lake Park High SchoolDo not send your children to Lake Park High School. Racism is very prominent throughout the school administration. I have personally experienced racism when interacting with Caucasian teachers, registration staff, and security guards. On one occasion, the security guard accused my child of being a drug dealer because they had “a lot” of money. It was birthday money. At a football game I was harassed by the principal, two teachers, and the security guard because I went to charge my phone in my car between games. The teacher tried to make me use their charger. When I declined, the security threw me and my children out of the game. I’ve never experienced such blatant racism in my life. It starts at the top and unfortunately African American families have to deal with it for four years.
Posted by a parent on 9/22/2023To be completely honest, it's not a good school by any means in my opinion. There's no sense of organization and the education really isn't all that great. I've heard my student tell me that there's been a lot of fights at the school lately and that they don't feel safe in school at all. I want to send my child to a school where he can sit down, get his work done and learn and not have to worry about them being in danger. I've also been told there's a tremendous amount of electronic cigarettes as well as other forms of drugs. I've also benn told that the counslers at Lake Park are not helpful at all in terms of bullying. I dont not recommend this school to anyone that wants their children to have a safe and good learning expierence. After graduating from a school in the city, from what I'm hearing it seems like Chicago has better schools than the suburbs.
Posted by a parent on 3/13/2023I am disappointed in the quality of the education and staff at this school. The dean couldn’t care less about students breaking off into fights and disrupting class, but disciplines hard working students for arriving late to school after being called in late one day…ridiculous. They need to prioritize who really needs help instead of scaring good kids for no reason! If they can pinpoint the underlying cause and discipline the bullies instead of the victims, then maybe they can get to the root of the issue.
Posted by a parent on 1/11/2022It’s a shame how many of these teacher have tried to push their political beliefs on students. It’s also a huge shame that these teachers will not let those of another opinion speak in discussions without interruptions. I would never send my kid here. The administration and superintendent are ignorant and do not care about the well-being of the students.
Posted by a parent on 3/5/2021Lake Park has been a prestigious and precious school. All of the material my daughter is learning is advanced! All the staff are kind and truly care for the students.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorst experience ever. Transferred my child from a public school during Covid so that he can be taught in person. He was never made to feel welcome. He was bullied and threatened multiple times. Complained to the principal and teachers. Nothing was ever done about it. For a private school, the academics were substandard. The public school had the best teachers. The academics and student involvement were so much better at District 54. Don’t waste your money here. Not worth it.Parent Review2mo ago - Lasso-Medinah Primary School-Medinah SD 11
