Read what parents are saying about Spring Creek Elementary Schoolsince the new principal took over in 2022 there has been nothing but trouble. zero accountability and the new principal just hides and has zero communication with parents of the children that go there. there have been many instances of violence on the playground during lunch that the principal and the vp have just looked the other way. there was never an issue like this with the old principal. until there is change from the top, i would not send children to this school. quickly becoming one of the worst grade schools in rockford. all in less then one year of school.
Posted by a parent on 4/17/2023Our children have attended this school for the last two years. Teachers, partners, parents and administrator have been a good influence for them. One child had speech support and the other gifted support, there were wonderful school extra activities related with sport and science and it has also been a good and strong parent communication. Very happy after all.
Posted by a parent on 7/23/2017Overall, Spring Creek is a wonderful school. Mr. Owens (principal) is kind and approachable. He does a great job in guiding the students and showing that he sincerely cares for each and every one of them. He offers great support to any concerns parents and teachers may have. This school has a ZERO tolerance for bullying and takes offenses very seriously. Students are kind and caring to one another. 4th grade teacher, Mrs Tukker is great with students but shows signs of disconnect. I understand that security is priority and I love that about this school. However, with tight security, it makes it difficult to visit your child's classroom and/or form a relationship with the teacher on a parental level. We came from a private school where parents were always welcome and encouraged to stop by classrooms during learning. At Spring Creek, its very difficult to get passed the secretary. Studies have been shown that students do better in school when parents are active and involved. Other than that, all other experiences have been positive and I would recommend this school over nearby private schools.
Posted by a parent on 12/5/2014My wife and I are very pleased to have our three children at Spring Creek Elementary School. This is our fourth year attending there. The teachers and the principals have been great and have fostered a positive environment for learning. I am pleased that our children are interacting with children from all types of backgrounds. I have recommended the school to my neighbors. Concerning who is writing this review, I am a Conservative Physician and my wife is in a Masters of Arts in Teaching Program. We are pleased to have our children at Spring Creek Elementary School.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our first year at Rockford Lutheran Academy, and we are extremely happy we made the change. The school academically is far above the others in the area. This was obvious from the first Maps test my daughter was given as a way for them to see where she was academically when registering. As a bonus, she was one of the kids who scored highest on her testing date and got a little scholarship. It wasn't much, but with private schools every dime helps. She is in 4th and tested into 5th grade reading and math and has had straight A's all year. Unfortunate that her prior school did nothing to challenge her. This school truly monitors the children's progress and if they need help, they get it and if they are advanced they get challenged. They also listen to your concerns when they arise and are a community (ie. not afraid of parents coming through their doors). Just wish we had made the change sooner!Parent Review2y ago - Holy Family Catholic School

I feel very blessed to be sending 2 children here and feel very at home in our parish.Parent Review1y ago - St Bridget School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOutdated curriculum. Teachers have little regard for students, and the administration frequently excuses their poor actions. Bullying is not addressed with any consequences at all. Save your children's self-worth and character- find another school; there are too many options to settle.Parent Review2mo ago - Spectrum School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Spectrum Community is based upon collaboration between everyone. I mean from the President to the Janitor, the parent to the grandparent, the child to the volunteer, everyone is brought together for the sole purpose of molding a mind into a lifelong lover of learning. Send your kids here, and they will become the best that they can be!Other Review1y ago - Christian Life Center School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI brought my son here after his father passed away looking for an education that could enhance his current skills as well as some fellowship as a grieving family that just lost our husband/dad. What better place than a Christian private school right? Wrong. My son was reading at a 2nd grade level in pre school. His teacher never noticed. Never challenged him to do better. The 1st sign of bereavement and I was told my son is "disobedient." You can't even PAY these people to show some compassion or interest in your child. Within a week at his new school his teacher noticed his reading abilities. Fast forward 9 years later and he's a straight A student who never gets into trouble. A grieving child is not disobedient. If you want to PAY for an education that's less valuable than a public school education, this place is for you.Parent Review2y ago
