Eisenhower Middle School

This is our first year at Rockford Lutheran Academy, and we are extremely happy we made the change. The school academically is far above the others in the area. This was obvious from the first Maps test my daughter was given as a way for them to see where she was academically when registering. As a bonus, she was one of the kids who scored highest on her testing date and got a little scholarship. It wasn't much, but with private schools every dime helps.She is in 4th and tested into 5th grade reading and math and has had straight A's all year. Unfortunate that her prior school did nothing to challenge her. This school truly monitors the children's progress and if they need help, they get it and if they are advanced they get challenged.They also listen to your concerns when they arise and are a community (ie. not afraid of parents coming through their doors). Just wish we had made the change sooner!

The community is so amazing. All the parents are friendly and involved. The teachers are kind and keep a very open line of communication with parents. I feel very blessed to be sending 2 children here and feel very at home in our parish.

Addressing bullying and exclusion within this school requires a more effective approach when dealing with the perpetrators, and it's vital to ensure that victims are not shamed for coming forward. Regrettably, some teachers do not prioritize this issue. Additionally, there is a concern regarding the outdated curriculum, some dating back to 2008, and each grade can be obtained for a nominal fee ($50). This issue can be overlooked if the educator is exceptional in their teaching approach. However, this is not always the case, and just as in most compulsory schools students are just another number. Moreover, if the school's religious views are not shared, students may feel inferior and uncomfortable.

The Spectrum Community is based upon collaboration between everyone. I mean from the President to the Janitor, the parent to the grandparent, the child to the volunteer, everyone is brought together for the sole purpose of molding a mind into a lifelong lover of learning. Send your kids here, and they will become the best that they can be!

Lost its mission. No curriculum path. No sports teams. No social clubs or events. No AP options. No students. Class size is around 5 to 1.
