Read what parents are saying about Gordon SchoolBeen a resident in this school district since 2003 and seen positive evolvement over the years. The lower grade schools are decent. My eldest children attended in this district & are adults now(early 20’s). Back then, the normal things were happening with students. I believe that some of the best schools have issues & no place is perfect. However, there have been way too many incidents of bullying among other students which is unacceptable. Some teachers are even bullying & intimidating their own students. The way things are being handled by administrators, swept under the rug, nonchalant attitudes, teachers upset because parents have something to say, passive/aggressive behavior, tit for tat drama/pettiness with students, etc,. The pandemic is not an excuse but has definitely changed some people for the worst. It takes special individuals to be teachers esp nowadays, but certain things are not rocket science. Some people are just plain evil & it definitely shows in their behavior. Also, things being said by teachers students are telling their parents. It shows the lack of professionalism and how they want folks to hush and let them say/do whatever they want. Just plain sad how some teachers are uncaring, have no work ethic, & only work to get paid in the world today. I know that some students give teachers a hard way to go too sometimes but if it’s this bad change how things are handled. Be that change & example for your colleagues, don’t add to the nonsense. Now, there are some great teachers in this district & who love what they do and does show. Sometimes the negative experiences drown out the positive, but some things just need to be known.

Posted by a parent on 9/16/2021Based on visits to varied activities through out the past two years I have seen the school operate in an upward momentum. The physical environment, student resources and activities have all moved towards excellence.
Posted by a community member on 5/30/2018They have no ac for most of the school and don't provide water for the kids. They take the kids outside during the winter to wait for the parents when in summer they wait inside in tyne heat. They promote bulling by saying the kids should deal with it their selfs or do what they have to do to fix the problem they don't do nothing. The teachers also do a lot of the bulling till they make kids cry. The principal and district don't do anything and always making excuses or stalling for "projects " they are doing to improve the school.
Posted by a parent on 12/21/2016I used to be a former student now in middle school. This school was the best school any child will go to. We had fun activities and dancing. The teachers would devote themselves helping students

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Children get to learn in a real world environment. They garden, enjoy learning music, create art of all kinds, and learn how to react to situations with curiosity and kindness. The staff takes the extra step to work with each child and let them learn at their own pace. This is a fantastic place for children to grow and learn.Parent Review3y ago - Mary P Moody Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBlue Cap School serves children from kindergarten-age 22 who have significant cognitive impairments (mental retardation), significant medical needs, significant physical needs, or Autism. The classes are small and each room has more than enough staff. The school building is new and beautiful, as well as being single level and completely handicapped accessible- including the adapted play ground! The staff is very well trained and extremely devoted. Because the school is small, each child is viewed as an individual and every staff member, from the principal to the custodian, work together for each child- this includes parents! Blue Cap is also a safe environment for individuals with disabilities and situated in a community in which it is respected. Preschool, After School, Adult Day Services, and Adult Residential programs are also available.Teacher Review13y ago
