Read what parents are saying about Quest Charter AcademyAbsolutely love Quest. We have been with the school for 3 years now. I have 3 kids. 1st grade, 6th grade and 8th grade. The staff is incredible, they are so caring and they are part of your team guiding your kids to get the best possible experience from their education. The curriculum is much better then our previous public school and there is a lot less off topic issues (politics for example) being discussed in the classroom. I am so glad we made the change and happy to continue working with Quest for the next 7 years.
Posted by a parent on 2/16/2023My experience at this school is bad they change things every year most of the teachers don't teach and they make very rude comments. The school food is terrible,Some people threw up or got food poisoning from eating the food here including me. The meat be pink. The staff here gets disrespectful with parents at Games and concerts or other events involving students. Teachers do not give lessons,Student are on chromebooks all day, that can mess up you vision. Over the years quest has got worse and worse!!!!
Posted by a student on 2/7/2020inconsistent, everything gets changed and switched out every year! every year the school gets worse and worse!!!
Posted by a student on 9/6/2019They talk big and act small. We hoped our children would get an education where the teachers were much more involved and our children would advance rapidly. However, we were informed at one of the PT Conferences that much of the class time is spent with the children working on activities in ChromeBooks. Please! I could plop a computer in front of my child at home and tell them "learn". This is not what we expected in a Charter Academy. Our children are starting to prepare for their high school years and still can't address an envelope, do multiplication tables from memory consistently, or even know where to begin to write a book report. They don't know which states are where or what the capitals of the states are!!! My husband and I were taught all this stuff from 4th grade on; and were expected to be fully competent in these things by 7th grade at the ABSOLUTE LATEST! So disappointed.
Posted by a parent on 2/25/2017My son is a Sophomore at Quest. The school has promised but not delivered. Course selection is poor. When asked about this the administration used the excuse that the class sizes are small; however, there are private schools the same size with a better selection. There are few STEM classes even though that is how the school is advertised. When you ask anyone about this the general response is "next year." If your student is in high school how long must you wait for the school to get it together? We are talking about these kids' futures. It should be more structured. High school students cannot wait for the school to get it together. The children are getting further behind. The high school feels more like a middle school and it seems to be an atmosphere of low expectations instead of the high expectations you would expect at a charter school. The extended day is a joke. My son is disgusted because the lessons on the computer of the customized learning has been geared for a child in a lower grade. There is no challenge. This is not preparing the students for college or a skilled professional career. There are college tours which is a plus if you are a busy parent and don't have the means to plan a college tour yourself; however, if the child is not prepared to attend college what good is the tour? Also they may require more classes for graduation but at any high school your child can take more that the minimum required classes. Also community service is great but your child can do that without being in a school which requires you to do it. It does look good on a college application. Quest also requires a science project. Good opportunity to gain research skills if it is done correctly but what good is a science fair if the students wait until the last minute, and put something together haphazardly? It may work for some but be aware of the pros and cons. Don't be blinded by the glitter. Do your research because other schools offer the same if not more.

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy three sons attend this school. Two of my boys are doing fantastic with their teachers, but my other son isn't. He has a behavioral problem. We as parents have tried getting the teacher to refer him for an IEP especially since she treats him as if he's nothing but a problem for her. We've done everything in our power at home to help him and he comes home to tell us a teacher calls us bad parents. Even after speaking with the superintendent about it there doesn't seem to be much change. I'm afraid to send him to school at this point because the teachers only seem to care about the kids that are easy for them to handle. If your child is having emotional problems or academic problems or special needs. This is not the school you want to send them to.Parent Review7mo ago - Montessori School of Peoria

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have multiple children who attended this school, starting at preschool. The Primary classrooms have dedicated, Montessori trained teachers who create a welcoming and enriching family environment. When my children started at this quiet, and charming school they had art, music, Spanish and tumbling. As the years went by, these programs were discontinued, often with no communication as to why. Their classroom aides changed often, and they even had to abruptly move buildings when they were unable to maintain a positive relationship with their landlords. The children were crammed into small and smaller spaces, which became loud and louder. They decided to discontinue their Kindergarten program with no warning, leaving one of my children out of the experience. The curriculum seemed to change based on the teachers' interests and willing volunteers. More and more "core families" left the school and felt alienated when doing so. We tried to overlook the lacking education our children were receiving in thinking that their mental/social health was still thriving more than it would in a traditional school. There seemed to be a trend occurring. We were expected to "trust" the school more, and question them less. If our children were not excelling, it was a problem with the child, not the school/teachers/environment, etc. Multiple times we were told the school was going to "acquire a new space" and move very soon. Year after year it became clear this would never happen. They failed to set aside any money, are unwilling to let anyone help them manage their office, and are more concerned with keeping up appearances, than creating a healthy environment for the children and staff. They provide no planning time for their teachers, nickle and dime their staff and support personnel, and refuse to meet with parents and staff whenever convenient. They are supposedly non-profit, but they are run by one family, who is also on their very small board of directors. There are no open board meetings, no accountability, and a 50% turnover rate. Upon moving our children to public school, we were faced with the reality of the poor education they were provided. They were all very far behind their peers, and not even close to grade level in math and reading. They have had to work very hard to catch up. When speaking to former parents of MSP, the consensus is that we fear sending them to Montessori School of Peoria was our biggest parenting mistake.Other Review2mo ago - St Philomena School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my experience, I felt that I was almost targeted when I went there as I was blamed for many things and nobody seemed to just let me be me, if I were sending my kid to a school in the area, this would not be on the list. They also do make up a lot of questionable rules even for the littles things. Lastly I feel that the school really favors girls over boys, when I was at the school, if the girls were being loud in class or saying some really rude things to others, the teachers would let it slide. For boys it was completely different, being that if we were to do one bad thing the teachers would make it a big deal and reslly it made me not want to come back to the school on my last year. Like I said some of the teachers are not the best but there are some that are actually pretty good.Other Review1y ago - Holy Family Parish School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe've had a terrible situation with this school. My daughter has adhd and cannot focus sitting still. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that, however the school made us think that she had mental issues/was psychotic. In 7th grade we took her out of this terrible teaching system and she's now homeschooled and getting 100%s in every class. This school also has no black / Hispanic teachers and has said no to accepting some black students. Insanely overpriced and definitely not worth your time in applying. Find somewhere better.Parent Review11mo ago
