This is a very good option in our area since the majority of the public schools in McHenry cannot compete with the education your child will receive here. My child will be attending this school for the 3rd year and I cannot say enough good things about the education he has received thus far. They were teaching sign language and Spanish in pre-K and K. They put a great deal of focus on reading in kindergarten while getting into math, science, some history, art, music and religious education. They even did cooking with the kids once a week. Another huge advantage is the teacher/student ratio. There is a good deal of parent involvement here and it makes for a family friendly atmosphere. Since the school is relatively small, it doesn't have a typical administration or some of the services and technology the public schools offer which would be the only disadvantage. However, it seems like they are working on making many improvements such as trying to bring more technology to the classrooms, etc. I would recommend this school if you are looking for a better option in McHenry.
