Read what parents are saying about Prairie-Hills Junior High SchoolI worked at this school as a social worker for three months. I do not recommend anybody send their kids there. It's fights everyday and kids are always being bullied. It's no consequences for behavior and when students fight they are back the next day. The administration is horrible! The new principal has NO class and is very unprofessional. She brings her sorority life into the school. I can't believe she hired a counselor who is not certified or in school for it. The kids need a real counselor and not a FAKE one. They expect the social worker to do everything. Your day is constantly disrupted and you are called for things you shouldn't be called for. Then, the things you should be called for... they don't! Totally backwards! And The 7th grade AP dont know his job at all and is very confrontational...even with parents. So glad I quit! Those people are shady and can't be trusted! I couldn't stand to see the principal hold parties for two hours on Fridays in the gym when kids are reading at a kindergarten level. Wish I could say something good about this place but I can't. It's a revolving door. IT WAS 46 NEW EMPLOYEES and now I know why! Poor Administration. So glad I left and didn't waste anymore time there!

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAfter a couple of years of getting picked on & nothing being done about it ,My children are forced to defend themselves against other kids. The principal acts like she completely understands where you're coming from when there's an issue but yet there is no consequences for the student who is always fighting and bullying my child, but instead take recess from my child to prevent him from getting hit! No fair at all!!! She does not know how to handle a situation at all ,the rules in this school need to be reinforced. Also they are a few teachers here who a very mean to the children , I've witnessed it with my own eyes and my children have come home crying because some of these teachers (especially ) the gym teacher ) are very mean, they shout in the children's faces, embarrass them and have threatened to call the cops if the children didn't behave ! It's a shame that we moved out of the city to Oakforest so our kids could have the opportunity to go to a better school and now we're looking to move again because of all that goes on at this school .Parent Review7y ago - Highlands Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school suck's from a parent's perspective. There is no order when dismissing the kid's from school and the principal has NO interaction with the parent's except if your child get's in trouble. I am so happy that my child is no longer in this school.Other Review7y ago - Markham Park Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend this school at all. My daughter spent K-2 grade at Markham Park. She did well and had great teachers K-1. Her 2nd grade year was more challenging. She struggled with tests and reading/comprehension. When I showed concern about this, as her grades were slipping, the teacher told me not to worry. She explained that because we were planning on moving out of the school district she would pass my daughter along to the next grade and there was no reason to hold her back. While I really wanted my daughter to be able to go to the next grade; I didn't want her to be passed along simply because we were relocating and she wouldn't be attending the same school. To me, that just meant that my daughter would still struggle in higher grade. This is no way to address learning issues or struggles in class. Passing children to the next grade despite the student's proving unreadiness shows lack of care! The principal was no help in the situation. They only promised that they would do all they could to help my daughter throughout the next coming months before school ended. My daughter passed the 2nd grade, but was it because she improved or because we were relocating? So sad...Parent Review12y ago - Nob Hill Elementary School
