I really don't understand why Lincoln has such poor reviews. Maybe a lot has changed since my daughters have started 3 years ago. Overall we have been nothing but pleased. They have a wonderful art and music program as well as computer class, a brand new gym for pe, and library day . They have a lot of kids that go here but the staff go above and beyond with making connections with the kiddos and remembering their names. My oldest daughter is ahead of a lot of kids her age and her teachers have made a point to individualize her reading and math assignments so she doesn't get bored. The only problems we've had were solved by asking for a sit down meeting. The teacher, principal, social worker, and assistant principal all attended and we felt like they genuinely cared and soon after the problem was resolved. They also host a lot of fun free activities for families and the kids.

Our experience with this school has been completely terrible. They seem to try, but always fall short. They have no follow through on anything. Our son is ADHD and bipolar and has an IEP. They have not followed my son's IEP the way it was discussed, they have made promises they didn't keep, and have even went so far as to blame our parenting for the troubles my son has had. They constantly blame their short comings on lack of funding and have refused to transfer my son to the program for children with emotional/behavior disorders in Rushville. I feel like there is so much more they could do. I feel that my son is not getting quality education because he does not fit their idea of a "model student".

The staff is obviously very committed to the welfare of the students. We appreciated their attempts to help us when we visited earlier this week.

Im having trouble finding one good review. My now kindergartener is some what adjusting however with a no parent policy it makes it difficult to feel content my child is doing well. And no communication between children and their parents makes me suspicious and weary.children are not allowed to phone their parent which is not listed in any school handbook I've gone over.the faculty is very rude. i dont understand such disrespect towards a concerned parent.

There is no possible way this school could receive such a high score. My son attended for two years until I fortunately found a way to transfer him to a different school district and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made for him. He used to hate going to school every day, feared his teachers, feared testing, and seemed to always be criticized or bullied by others in his class. My son is very bright and enjoys being artistic. His teachers never spent the time to ensure he was learning and rushed everyone through their objectives. His new school has been a Godsend. He now enjoys being in school, is making new friends, and even aced his first spelling test, without any fear. If you can, do your very best to avoid Lincoln Elementary in Macomb, IL.
