Black Hawk Elementary School

This elementary school is truly something special. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the sense of care, dedication, and community that the principal Patrick Haugens and teachers, and staff bring every single day.The principal leads with heart and genuine commitment, always going above and beyond to make sure every child feels seen, supported, and valued. The teachers are equally incredible. What really sets this school apart is the effort they put into creating a fun and engaging environment. The activity nights are a highlight for families, bringing everyone together and creating lasting memories. The school also does a wonderful job recognizing and rewarding students with fun incentives that keep kids motivated and excited to learn.It’s rare to find a school where staff consistently go the extra mile, but this one does it effortlessly. I am beyond grateful for a place that not only educates children but uplifts and inspires them every day.Parent of a proud first grader.

Erickson doesn't have the funding and resources to attract and maintain good quality teachers. We would love to have better learning programs that other elementary schools have that Erickson lacks due to funding and space constraints. They also do not have a full day Kindergarten program that is essential for today's early childhood education.

I have 2 kids at Winnebago my 4th grader is doing good overall, but my kindergartner is having a really hard time with the teacher. I’m very unhappy with the kindergarten program.

Decent elementary experience. Unhappy with middle/ Jr. High experience. My student was unprepared for High School.
