Posted by a parent on 3/1/2024We have been super happy with all the teachers our children have had so far (oldest is in 3rd grade). The teaching styles and individual attention given to the students is very good. Belle Aire is an "Open Concept" school meaning that there are only a couple of fully walled off classrooms, although most have high dividers. We were skeptical of this concept at first, until we heard praise from one of the Jr High teachers that "Belle Aire kids know how to tune out distractions and focus". beside most of us with "office jobs" do not have a "closed office" anyhow, so I think this works in the kids advantage.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagei was a student here and some of the teachers are nice but others really could care less. the reading teachers are rude and have no respect for the kids, the new library assistant could care less about the older kids and yells at them but loves the younger kids. even though a lot of the teachers weren’t my favorite there are a few. one of the 6th grade teacher really cared for me and made sure i felt safe and the new art teacher did too. lunch is pretty bad and same with the respect for students but it is bearable.Other Review1y ago - Downers Grove Adventist School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my sons started at ACS in K and graduated from 8th grade. Highly intelligent children NEED a place like Avery Coonley. These children need to be challenged and have to know what it is like to work hard to achieve academic success. Too often, high-IQ kids are bored in school and become disengaged or lazy. My sons needed ACS to value the importance of hard work and dedication to their classes. Due to the challenging course work, the skills they learned at ACS provided them with the tools to go on to have successful high school and college careers. In addition, smart kids need to be where it is "cool to be smart".
