Read what parents are saying about Iroquois Community SchoolFantastic group of administration and staff that approach this diverse population to the maximum of their ability. Keep that in mind when just crunching numbers and looking at test scores. Des Plaines, just like most of the northern suburban school districts are very skewed towards the haves and the have lots. What makes Iroquois so special is the fact that they embrace diversity and help everyone just the same, no matter what the background or circumstances. The school community is amazing and, for this school district one of a kind. As with any school, education begins and ends at home. Stay active and it pays paramount, especially here. Go Warriors!
Posted by a parent on 5/5/2016I'm very disappointed in this school ,The curriculum is poor. Very little communication between teacher and parents. My child teacher is being arrogant, couldn't care less for a student. Apparently my child is not doing well academically and socially and yet I can not get any help or advice from her, how am i supposed to help. When I talk to her she says he is doing just fine, and then I'm getting very poor report card.
Posted by a parent on 9/11/2015Wonderful school with a supportive, approachable staff! I have children who are present and future Iroquois students and feel so fortunate to have chosen and gotten into this school. The curriculum is stimulating and challenging and the school has great updated technology due to last years remodel. This school is K-8 yet feels very small and tight knit which allows my children and I to feel very comfortable. We are very much looking forward to our future with this Principal and teachers...they really are all fantastic!
Posted by a parent on 4/20/2014Great, caring and educated staff. Freshly remodeled building. District provides sufficient funds for technology and teacher training. The only thing missing is a stronger feel of community amongst parents. This school achieves a lot with a very mixed group of kids coming in.
Posted by a parent on 4/19/2014We are so happy and felt so incredibly lucky that our Now 7 yr old got into ICS two and a half yrs ago! The Principal and staff are amazing. What I love most is Their focus on every single child's well-being. They Taget bullying and try hard to get kids to see how Fun learning is! They focus on enforcing positive Behavior. If they didn't focus on these important Factors, I bet this school would not have been voted Academic Excellence last year! They are doing an Exceptional Job! The kids want to learn, they look Forward to going to school and that's an incredible Thing to achieve :)

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKG is suppose to mold a student and give them a first good impression and confidence to make kids want to keep going to school. Well about 15 years ago my child was in kg. That KG teacher at Our lady of destiny that was there made my child not feel safe or want to go to school. Thankfully we realized it on time and we transferred to another school where the teacher made a huge impact on my child and helped my child grow. My child is now at a d1 big ten school both on academic and sport scholarship. Thank you to that one new teacher at her new school who as she recalls transformed my child from a wilted flower to a blooming one. The teacher at Our lady of destiny was my childs main bully and allowed other students to bully my child. Nothing was ever done. What a shame children are suppose to feel safe at school. If I could give it 0 stars I would but the app won't allow it.Parent Review2y ago
