Seton Montessori is the MECCA of Montessori schools in the United States. This school, located in welcoming environments is the prototype for elementary education in America. The age scaffolded classrooms offer the students continual support and encouragement. The level of responsibility children are given proves they can handle "hard" work with grace and courtesy. The teaching staff is the most knowledgeable and compassionate team of humans I've ever experienced in a learning environment. The families are welcomed and encouraged to participate in community events and help keep the school environment pristine. As a credentialed Montessori educator, who attended teacher training here, I have been enriched by this community immensely. Schedule an observation and you will be amazed at the guided independence of the students, the caring teachers, and the most beautiful prepared environment. This school is a crown jewel!!!

I was told directly by a long-term parent, “We accept that we won’t get respect, kindness, or gratitude from Amanda [the principal], but we stay for the community.” While I appreciate the friendships and sense of community many families value, I send my daughter to school for her education and overall well-being, not simply to build social connections for my husband and I. In addition to not being able to communicate with administration when you have an issue, the academics will leave your child behind. This year, the entire first-grade class reportedly scored below expected benchmarks on math testing. I have also heard from staff at other schools that students transferring from Notre Dame often arrive academically behind and require additional support to catch up.
