Read what parents are saying about Juarez Community Academy High SchoolWhere do I start, the hope scholarship that was offered is given to pull the wool over the parents eyes and make them keep their kids at this school knowing that they are all underachievers and will not make it in college as the school is not preparing them to do so. They literally are learning NOTHING most parents are not aware that if the child drops out they still have to pay the whole scholarship, so NO it is not free… It is the same rule that applies to low income students if they were to apply to any college and get accepted they would most likely get tuition covered because of their income. Teachers at the school do not care, Or keep the parents informed of issues occurring in the school. Kids are not learning, there is still too many gangs around this area and drive-bys and walk up shootings etc… Security and CPD is nonexistent here unless they have a threat. City of Chicago needs to do better and provide to underprivileged low income minorities!!!
Posted by a parent on 8/16/2023Congratulations to the culinary students and their teachers! They prepared a wonderful array of food for the staff on December 19. The food was varied and delicious, and served in such an attractive and fine manner. Great job!
Posted by a teacher on 12/20/2014I'm a substitute teacher and i'm writing this for other subs who are using this site to find schools to work at. The teachers and administration at this school are great and very helpful. Overall the students at this school are pretty respectful, however if you're black like me you need to have thick skin a couple of the older young men make racial comments.I even had one girl come up to me and apologize for some of their comments, but like I said most of the students are respectful. The only real bad thing about this school and the reason I may not return is because of security. I called them twice yesterday, because I had young men throwing things and making rude comments, they never came, and none was in the hallway, the students even told me that security would not come (this is weird never happened even at the worst high schools) I find this very dangerous for me and the students, because something much worse could have bee going on.
Posted by a community member on 11/22/2014I love this school. The teachers are nice, you have the chance to make up work, The counselors are nice, And they offer career academies. The only bad thing is that the nurse is either never there or doesn't do anything. My friend had a really bad headache once and the nurse told her she couldn't do anything about it and got sent back to class. Overall, the school is very good.

Juarez is an amazing school because everyone in the community (administration, teachers, staff, parents) is involved and wants the best for the students.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been really happy with the decision to send our son to St. Procopius. The dual language approach is the key driver. In addition, the teachers and the principal show genuine care for the children and go above and beyond to help them thrive. There is an authentic sense of community fueled by parent engagement. We have had a great experience so far and plan to send our younger son to St. Procopius as well once he comes of age.Parent Review4y ago
