Corkery Elementary School

Terrible. Teachers are not there to teach children they are just mice in a cheese factory and their only interest is the money that they receive from the state they merely care about the well being of the kids at that school.

Yo he vivido en West Chicago por 14, tengo 4 hijos que asistieron a las escuelas del distrito 33 y quede muy satisfecha con la enseñanza han tenido excelentes maestros. Ms. Drake fue una excelentísima directora unos años atrás y Ms. Correa igual. Yo si recomiendo mucho esta escuela.

This school was terrible. I was sa’d and they did nothing. Not to mention a girl following me home everyday trying to fight me bc her bf wanted me. The principal was aware and did nothing the girl and me fought over 8 times due to her putting her hands on me. I don’t even remember learning anything the teacher was horrible and allowed her to bully me but when I stood up for myself they would punish me.

I attended Whitney from 1956-1965, I considered it like entering a castle, the teachers were so dedicated to our learning, it was the days of Camelot, a truly magical time. Joel Werner class of 1965

I attended this school from pre-K until the beginning of 8th grade. During those years I unfortunately suffered bullying. I myself had brought this up to my teachers and nothing was done. I brought it up to the vice principal and nothing was done. I was hoping for some sort of help that not even the principal provided when I brought it to her attention. For many years it went unnoticed regardless of how many times I had reported it. It was only when I had an emergency evaluation by a licensed therapist during the school day that I finally received the help I so desperately needed. From then on, they began to truly care about bullying and its victims as soon as it had reached extreme of needing an intervention from a therapist. This school truly does nothing for its students and if I could leave a lower review, I would.

my children would come home almost every week with unexplained injuries or missing items such as clothes, school supplies and more. There does not seem to be a consistent curriculum in place. The administrative staff is cold and unapproachable. I tried checking reviews on Google, but it looks like they have been removed. Thankfully, I came across this site and saw that others have had similar experiences. Very disappointing save yourselves the trouble and stay away from this school
