CICS Longwood

Not well at all. I do no recommend to certain students, although some of the teachers are nice, respective, and teach well. Math and reading are great subjects that are taught well.

An 8/10 because it created a mindset that carried me throughout high school and onto college. I found out what my likes where as far as my talents in academics and extracurriculars that can manifest into a career. Things that I found myself doing in high school because I was introduced to it at Fort Dearborn. The people as in teachers, certain ones for me but it all depends on who you are and who you connect with, had an affect on me and I will always remember them pushing me to be who I am, and who I was to them, was great and promising! But, of course things may change for students, this was back in 2012.

My child and I enjoyed the school and the teachers/Administration

The staff makes the school the principal is very rude I think she thinks every parent that she comes across she has to talk to them in a disrespectful manner I kinda glad she declined my son offer letter she let her personal reasons for me come between my son education she does not accept accountability she interrupted me in a conversation which is very rude you are to let the person finish then you respond no she has to talk loud over you to get her point across which is not what I want my child to experience I want my child to understand in order to give respect you have to give it I don’t think many people are complaining about her enough because I’m sure with that type of leadership she has she shouldn’t be in the position again the staff is the reason it’s definitely not her if you deal with difficult parents you don’t take it out on other parents an I felt that’s exactly how she treated me she had WRONG information then when confronted she played victim an my child suffered

This is a really great school. The staff is professional and caring. The facility is impressive and very clean. My grandson has been a student at UECA for 2 years and is performing above grade level. He loves his school and is excited about learning

So disappointing! My child attended the childcare and academy. The front office staff and teachers are outstanding. The principal is what has brought the school down. She does not address the concerns of parents, reply to emails or calls. During our 4 years there, I received one return call from her. I had requested my child to start kindergarten early because his birthday was right after the cut off. I was told the school does not allow it. I even requested can my child be tested and the response was that they do not do that at Oakdale. Well months later I find out that several kids in HIS class were allowed to start early. I also found out that in another grade a child was tested to move up a grade. I feel like I was lied to because when I asked for this exception, I was outright told NO, the school doesn't allow it. However, other students in the same exact class was given the ok. When I asked the principal why this happened, she blamed it on COVID. No apology or even empathy. Very cold and matter of fact. Her reasoning was completely unacceptable. This is the reason I pulled my child from this school. Too much dishonesty. No accountability. In addition the school is very disorganized. Parents always get information late and at the last minute. I expect better since this is a tuition based institution. Every year more and more families leave and enrollment is down.

I went to this school for 10 years. Everything up to 6th grade was great. I was being bullied non-stop in 6-8th grade and the administrators seemed to not care in the slightest. They barely care about if something happens until it affects their reputation. They only used your accommodations if it had to be strictly enforced. You’d probably have to have it in bold letters for them to enforce it. All my other years were fine but you seriously need to do better.
