Admin. Doesnt apply to teachers and drags kids out but when teachers try to restrain kids beating another student they get DCFS called on them

Great school with excellent administrators. The teachers are so caring and patient. I love the school.

My son started at the end of his 2nd grade year. I was disappointed that the work he did was the same level he had for 1st grade at a Chicago public school. He was in the gifted class at CPS so that may be why. This school does not offer gifted classes or programming. I asked if they had a grievance or complaint process and was ignored by the principal. An office personnel came in and I asked her. Once she started to answer, the principal then decided to cut her off and state "I am the process". I told her that didn't seem likely they wouldn't have a form so I would call the district. I sat on the bench outside the office and the district directed me to an online form. I went back into the office to let her know there was one available and the police showed up behind me. The resource officer told them I had refused to leave twice and was now banned from the property. I still am not sure what happened. While talking to the two white officers, he referred to me as a crazy mexican. (I am white). Also, he was the Police Chief for Calumet Park and 3 people of color were hung inside the jail within 2 weeks. The mayor resigned and he refused to resign.

I have two granddaughters that attended this school, one is in her last year there (2nd grade). They had problems reading until they were placed in the reading programs. I am happy to say, they are both reading above their grade levels and they love to read. Keep up the great work with phonics Wilson School. This helps with our kids confidence, and empowers them to do great things!
