Posted by a student on 2/27/2024Teachers and staff communicate with students and parents very well. You can keep an eye on homework, attendance, and grades online. Good amount of sports and activities for students. Athletic coaches are very supportive and do a lot of positive reinforcement.
Posted by a parent on 2/3/2021This school is horrible, it doesn’t prepare us for collage in any way. We don’t use a normal grading scale and instead use a 4 point scale in where homework does not count and only or test grades determine out grade. No helpful classes out offered at this school with the exception of 2-3 classes that could teach me some real useful information. The school is over crowed and hallways are always packed basically body to body.
Posted by a student on 1/13/2020I know students there who have witnessed bullying on a regular basis, but teachers largely ignore it and administration acts like it doesn't happen. Worse yet, I know instructors who used to be there who have left because of how bad the administration has become. A few years ago they said it was one of the happiest places in town to work. In the decade since, administrators have destroyed that. I am so glad I don't have any kids of student age who would have to go there now; it was a great school when I attended in the early 80's.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with this school for the past 2 years have been horrible. My child has had problems with being bullied but he is the one that gets in trouble. My child fears going to school and has lost all sense of loyalty to his teacher. His teacher and the principle say he is the problem, even after telling them many times that he is being bullied. I would not recommend this school at all.Parent Review6y ago - Bradley East Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is excellent. Teachers are committed and innovative. My grandson just finished kindergarten here and has been at or near the top of his class all year. The teacher had all kinds of things for them to do as a group and individually and sent home a book at the end of the year with photos of your child participating in all the group activities they had done all year - Valentine's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and lots of fun art projects, pageants, etc. He is more than ready for 1st grade!Parent Review5y ago - Maternity B V M

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our second year at Maternity. We joined this school when we moved to Bourbonnais last year, because we heard it was the best in the area. Although the teachers seem to care about the kids, they cannot give the attention we were promised. My son's class has 40 kids in it, and the aid that was promised is rarely there. The laptops they are issued are a joke, as they only use them at home to look up information...we have a computer for that! We are very disappointed but didn't want to move our son to a new school again.Parent Review8y ago - St. Joseph School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two young children who attend St. Joe and LOVE it. Their teachers challenge them while encouraging them. The focus is on the development of all aspects of my children - not just the academics. I have also enjoyed the sense of community that is present. Whether at the school or out in the community, children, older and younger, are always stopping to say, "Hi" when they see my kids and my kids know who they are! The class sizes are perfect. My family just loves St. Joseph and cannot say enough good things about it! I am also so appreciative of the new principal and all the wonderful things that he has added to the school.Other Review8y ago - Kankakee Trinity Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI could not be happier or prouder that my two children attend KTA. The staff is caring and devoted to their students and each other. My needs as a parent have always been addressed and the school has shown a great willingness to work with those needs. The class room education is a very good one and I feel that my children will be entering the world with a definite advantage.Parent Review6y ago - L W C Academy
