Read what parents are saying about Everett F Kerr Middle SchoolI’m a student at this school. It’s 2023 and reviews on this place haven’t been written in who knows how long. It was my first year here and it’s about to end, so I’ve had plenty of experiences. There’s a teacher who I will not name just to keep the peace and avoid any drama or arguments, who has said some racist things and has done some bad things with little to no apology. I also think the uniform is a bit, no, very, ridiculous. We are not allowed to wear sweaters or jackets or cardigans unless they’re a solid color or have the school logo. No hoods is a little understandable, but come on. In winter, many people need to wear something to keep themselves warm, and from what I’ve heard, not many people have that specific solid color sweater, and the school logo rule seems a bit like a cash grab. I do get that the school needs money to buy more supplies, but if you allowed students to wear sweaters, jackets etc. that didn’t have to be a solid color, many people would show more spirit. This school also has a pretty substantial bullying problem. I have been bullied time and time again by kids with a superior social life. For example, one time, I got distracted during a gym game because my mind kind of just wandered elsewhere, and I got made fun of. This has gotten so bad that sometimes kids give me weird looks when I’m just trying to get to my next class. I should not feel pressured or scared when I go to school. School is a place where you learn and interact positively with your peers, but this place has just become a place to gossip or make fun of people. Instead of making uniform stricter, maybe monitor what kids are saying more often. I’m genuinely scared for the future of this school if we just keep letting the same things happen over and over again.

Posted by a community member on 4/10/2023Teachers are not fair .!!!!! They also don't discipline the students and the biggest issue is treating all students the same and that doesn't happen at the three schools my children attend .. They called me at work one day telling me my oldest daughters pants were not uniform code .. I said yes they are .. so I proceed to ask what's wrong with them she says they are to tight on her ankles I said your kidding you call me at work for this that's a joke . Seriously. . So I go to school and 90% of the students have the same pants on and nothing is ever said .. Then my other daughter had Little pink in her shoe they called I'm like why don't we worry about education and not so much their uniform I get it's a rule .. but you can't pick and choose who you wanna day something to and that is the issue .. and all students should get same treatment and education. . Teachers have their favorite students that they let get away with anything my daughter's see it and so do the students .. so let's worry about teaching them please
Posted by a community member on 4/6/2016No u have got my school wrong. I go to kerr and im in 7th grade! They remodeled the whole school. It is amazing! Even though we hav uniforms we do get 2 dress down days! The teachers are amzaing, well some. We have tons of after school activites for example, double dutch, basketball, dance/cheer, cooking club etc.. There are some parents that are just lazy and dont come to the meeting but thats there lose. Kerr is amazing i give it a 10!
Posted by a community member on 2/3/2011Great staff for the most part. Always offer to stay after for extra tutoring for my niece. The only downside to the school is the vice principal. She sometimes acts unprofessional and I've heard her talking about personal things she has done the night before while walking my niece to her first class!

They garden, enjoy learning music, create art of all kinds, and learn how to react to situations with curiosity and kindness. The staff takes the extra step to work with each child and let them learn at their own pace. This is a fantastic place for children to grow and learn.Parent Review3y ago - Alternative Academic Achievement Academy
