Read what parents are saying about Barrington Middle School StationIf you are an English learner, have an IEP or 504 plan, then you will like this school. I’m not sure why the rating reflects that more resources should be allocated toward disadvantaged children. This district spends a lot more money catching kids up then they do on kids without special needs. If you have an above average, self motivated or quick learning child, you may want to look for a school district that can offer more. In particular, I was shocked at what passed for “A” work in language arts. I’m glad the district went remote because it gave me a chance to see how underprepared my child would have been before reaching high school.

Posted by a parent on 9/12/2020The inclusion of the "equity" score in this rating is absurd. One group of students is underachieving and they are recipients of high levels of administration and teacher time, along with other support resources and services designed to close that gap. In no way are they being under-served. Great Schools should take time to learn more about this issue -- or come up with a better model to score schools on this issue.
Posted by a parent on 1/16/2019During my 2.5 years of experience dealing with the administration and the special services team at the school, I've learned that they are more interested in generating documentation then the accommodations for the kids with special needs. They tend to make multiple careless mistakes, promises they are not able to keep, and push and intimidate the parents who are not willing to follow their recommendations.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had three boys graduate from St. Anne School in Barrington, Illinois. Our boys attended St. Anne from 3 year preschool through 8th grade. Our oldest went on to 4 successful academic and athletic years at Barrington High School and is currently a student-athlete in College. The other two boys are freshman student-athletes at Barrington High School. We believe the well-rounded, faith based education they received at St. Anne School is the foundation that has been critical to their success. Especially during these uncertain COVID times, we are forever grateful to the teachers and administration at St. Anne. The teachers at St. Anne kept our boys focused on school from day one of the COVID shut down through 8th graduation. These days are very difficult for young people and the structure, discipline and faith that has become almost second nature to each of them, has been a tool they have been able to use during these uncertain times. We realize as their parents, they do not fully understand this gift from St. Anne; yet we know this gift will always guide and support them through their life.Parent Review3y ago - Barrington Early Learning Center
