I like this school i was a little worried at first of there teaching since I am a west aurora graduate but is a very good school the teachers really care about the kids and they go above and beyond to help i like that and the school staff is always very nice they always make sure when there in

There is SERIOUS RACISM and DISCRIMINATION that is rampant and not even Acknowledged by the school district/staff, the fact that it’s not even addressed makes it worse. My daughters ages 7 and 5 had previously been wonderful students that were always so excited and eager to learn, until they were enrolled at John Gates Elementary school. Now they both simply DREAD attending and have started to suddenly act out, PARTICULARLY while at school. I am angry and disappointed in this school. I pray this place hasn't destroyed my daughters love and enthusiasm for learning. Why do I say these things? My daughters are caucasian and are constantly being bullied by both staff and students of the Hispanic ethnicity. The failure of the district/staff to see this type of garbage directed at my daughters speaks volumes about this place. I am currently in the process of removing them from the school and enrolling them elsewhere. I am sickened by John Gates Elementary school and the manner in which they allow this to happen.
