Read what parents are saying about River City Middle SchoolHorrible system for doing things, food can be spoiled or molded at times, teachers can be extremley rude to autistic students and ignore their needs and accomidations, vice principal is rude and acts like shes above everyone else, counselors are nice but dont do much for people who need help.
Posted by a student on 9/6/2023This school really isn't special or anything memorable to be honest. With the learning aspect they have a decent system, and a student can get average if they try to. Personally, with special education I cannot say much as I don't have anything diagnosed, but I know that MOST staff do understand and accommodate. In the teaching aspect, all teachers are respectful to me, BUT I have seen one mistreat a kid who was neurodivergent. Many of the teachers are very supportive. I've felt safe in this school and fights are resolved quickly. In the support side, I have been struggling with family problems, mental health and motivation. None of the counselors have been able to help, and I have not been able to seek help anywhere else. I've never really seen any family engagement and I don't really think it's that needed.
Posted by a student on 8/23/2022The vice principal is snobby they show no care for your students half of the staff don’t even know how to teach and the lunch at this school is horrible I would not recommend anyone coming to this school
Posted by a student on 5/22/2022Do not move to Post Falls School District if you want or expect a top notch education for your middle schooler. If you have a "special" needs child this school is definitely not for them. They will find ways to send the child home or kick them out all together. They told me they would provide a tutor, three weeks later we still have not received a tutoring session. This school district does not care about your child's education.
Posted by a parent on 10/14/2014My school is amazing. After moving from a large school of bullies, I expected to be treated the same here. But in reality, almost everybody is extremely nice. The teachers and students alike are all friendly and caring. I made about 30 friends on day one. On the first day, I felt too afraid to sit with people I'd met at lunch, so I sat alone, despite my panic attacks from loneliness. A(n also new) sweet girl came and sat with me, and she turned up to be my best friend. I have at least 150 friends now, almost my entire grade. The only bad kids are a group of them, and when they get into trouble, the teachers send them straight to the office for suspensions (it's actually a bootcamp-like alternative to suspension) or weeks of lunch detention. I took in a girl from that group, and she's not actually that mean, she just felt pressured by her "friends". The only thing this school could improve on is the lack of student engagement and fundraisers. The most that's happened this year are two school dances, and students protested against the lack of a talent show (we're getting one C:).

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn third grade my daughter was farther ahead in spelling\reading\writing than the other kids in her class. Her teacher took the time to make a different and harder spelling test for my daughter. She is now in the gifted program and is being challenged for the first time. It's been hard on her because she never had to really work for her grades. I am so happy they recognized she needed to be challenged, and so far her teachers have been wonderful! She starts her 3rd year at Ponderosa this year!Other Review8y ago - Seltice Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe loved Mullan Trail. My son attended 1st through 3rd grade before we moved out of state. He felt so loved and supported there. The communication between the teachers, the school staff and parents was excellent. The teachers he had were great at letting parents know what was going on in the classroom and what they were learning about.Other Review8y ago - West Ridge Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe LOVE our teachers and the faculty at Genesis! They genuinely care for their students and want them to succeed. No other private schools in the area offer the activities, sports and student body that Genesis can provide, and the faculty work with each high school students to understand all of their college options and the dual enrollment opportunities. The school has now exceeded 600+ students and continues to work toward a new facility and additional enrollment capacities. As the school grows, so do the many opportunities offered to our children.Parent Review1y ago
