Read what parents are saying about New Horizons Acad-E BoiseMy children have been at New Horizon on Boise Ave for about a year and a half now. They have a well structured school that teaches them so much. My children have learned so much that I would have never expected from a child care. Granted it is expensive and they do go through a lot of teachers at times. It is by far the best place I have taken my children to and would not take them anywhere else.
Posted by a parent on 6/4/2013Our child went through at least 10 teachers (some were great and let go for "policy" issues) in 1 year and was on again, off again happy and unhappy in going to "school". After being bounced back and forth between the 1's room and 2's room, oftentimes several times a day (due to them needing to keep their #'s correct), he became very unhappy. He would scream at the top of his lungs at the very mention of going to school and it broke our hearts to actually have to leave him for the day, especially when his last few teachers did nothing to alleviate our worries...they would just stand there and wait for us to leave. Upon pick up, they would hand us his paper of what he did (or didn't do) throughout the day. To say he was miserable there is an understatement...after one final day of absolutely no effort from his teachers to engage in any sort of interaction with me, my wife, or our child, we decided we would never again take him to this awful establishment! Upon withdrawal from the school we were told there is a 2 week policy for withdrawal, so we would be charged for our last 2 weeks even though we wouldn't be there due to their poor school. DON'T GO TO NEW HORIZON!

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and principal at this school are great, and really foster an environment of caring. If your student fits neatly in the bell-curve, you'll love it.Unfortunately, if your child is at either end of the learning spectrum (either with learning difficulties or gifted), it's an incredible challenge to get them supported. There seems to be little to no education on various learning disabilities for the teachers. When you're trying to find help for your student, you get gaslit from the school psychologist. We ended up paying for private testing and tutoring, which isn't an option for a lot of families. It breaks my heart to think of how many kids use fall through the cracks here.Parent Review2y ago - Adams Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to Adams as a child and we bought a home in the district so now my child attends. Mr. Adams (name is so fitting) is a great principal and very engaged. The teachers are engaged, creative and fantastic. Very active PTO and parent participation. Pandemic online was tough for my young kiddo but she was so happy to be back in person. Only drawback is that bc of the school attendance lines ….a bunch of the kids will be split up and have to attend East and North. Hard to be split up from friends when only two classes per grade with more of class heading to East Junior High bc they live in Mesa. My kiddo says, “I love Adams.”Parent Review2y ago - Garfield Elementary School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has a huge problem with bullying. They do not actually help at all in regards to it. My self and other parents have had to call the SRO over the area to try to get it to stop. Becca Anderson at the district level will not return parents phone calls in regards to the bullying either. I lwft several messages over the course of the school year last year and got ahold of her once.Parent Review1y ago
