Read what parents are saying about Lake Hazel Middle Schoolmold food there was a fight literally Monday and a kid got knocked out the math teacher don't teach the kids and all the front office staff always seem so angry and have an attitude towards the students. and the kids don't be quit or want to learn.
Posted by a student on 5/17/2023One of the older school buildings but very well maintained. Teachers are engaged & well liked by students. We transitioned into this school as 7th graders & the staff was awesome throughout the process! Compared to our past states 9 & 10 rated middle schools, lake hazel middle school scores were higher than the 9 & 10 rated schools in our prior state. Do your research, don’t just go off some basic rating. There’s more than just A NUMBER.
Posted by a parent on 6/2/2022The administration does nothing to stop the hostile environment that is brought on by bullies. If you have a choice please talk to parents read reviews and think twice about sending yourkids to this school. I am close with someone that is involved with the local schools and this schoolhas some big issues that are neglected. Please take this review to heart The only reason I have one star is I could not review without it.
Posted by a parent on 3/18/2022I think that the atmosphere at Lake Hazel Middle School has changed the last year or so for the better. The staff is on the same page, communication is very clear when it comes to giving and receiving information concerning students. There is a variety of approaches when it comes to academics and that helps fit the different learning types of all students. I really like the fact that my kids go to LHMS.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are certainly some teachers at Amity that might reconsider their careers in the Covid/Post Covid educational setting. We're never going back, and you're punishing children for things they can not impact. There are also amazing teachers entering the profession that should be cherished. Several years of principal turnover has impacted the teachers as much as the state's funding deficits. The staff at Amity truly connect with the kids, and I'm happy when my daughter tells me about how the front office staff know her (without her being a troublemaker). The PTA is lacking, but I feel that's a joint effort from the parents and administrative staff learning to jell.Parent Review1y ago - Lake Hazel Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy oldest son went here from K-6 and was very prepared for junior high. He went from being below grade level in earlier grades to at or above grade level as he progressed. The previous Principal (Mrs. Perry) even worked with him in a small group to help him get him where he needs to be which I thought was fantastic. Great teachers, the focus on the arts was great as well. My youngest is there as well and has also had a positive experience. We love CDSA!Parent Review6y ago - Mary Mc Pherson Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSuch a great small school, the principal is personable and very welcoming. I have two children at this school, one last year was below grade level and now this year above! They truly care about each student. The lunch is a whole different story, I wish I could make my kids eat it but they would come home starving. The food is pretty horrible sadly. But it’s definitely worth making lunches everyday to stay at silver sage!Parent Review6mo ago - Pepper Ridge Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have attended 4 different elementary schools in 5 years due to military service. I have been so happy with each and every one (even the one in Nevada which is such a low performing state academically). Our 7 months at Desert Sage have been an absolute nightmare. It is unreal. The front staff will answer no questions. Absolutely nothing is their problem. They will tell you to google it if you want info about after school activities. If your child is lost and confused about their bus and in the office asking where they should go? They won't direct them. They will call YOU and tell you they "don't communicate with the busses." Your child will be groped on the playground, punched in the face. Nobody will do anything. They won't acknowledge the ALP your child brings from their prior school until you get an educational advocate involved. They won't let you watch your child carol with the choir in the hallway because it is a security risk. Yet when you walk in, they won't look up or make you sign in unless you purposely get their attention. I have never felt compelled to leave a review for a school, but you should know what you are getting into if your child attends Desert Sage.Parent Review5y ago
