Read what parents are saying about Monticello Montessori Charter SchoolExceptional. Two years ago, my child attended a traditional public school. When we would ask him about his day at school, his response was to say “bad” and nothing more. We knew his teacher and knew that she was actually a really good and compassionate teacher, but the traditional way of teaching was not working for him. From his first day at Monticello, he came home excited and happy! He would grab books or ask to look up new things online. He would tell us that his new favorite thing was school! Some days he was be frustrated by normal things the other kids would say or do, but that’s to be expected from life. His experience at the school has been exceptional. The Montessori approach combined with Monticello’s teachers and administrators has worked wonders for our child.
Posted by a parent on 8/25/2019They were not prepared for school starting. It was obvious by the number of phone calls you make to the office and they didn't know what was going on. Back to school night for the parents the teachers inform parents different than even the school calendar said which was not passed out. They're bus schedule was always filled up they said they'd send it home or text neither one was done. They obviously have problems in the office. The principal seemed way over her head and not organized enough to run a school successfully.

Posted by a parent on 8/10/2016We had two children attend this school for three years. one of our boys who was already accelerated before attending actually thrived in the environment he loves learning and could learn as fast as he wanted to I wouldn't of minded leaving him attending that school. It is a completely non structured environment where children are encouraged to learn at their own pace. Our other son who is not very self-motivated perfectly content to wander around and not do anything which of course he was allowed to do. First Years test scores weren't bad he hadn't improved but he hadn't regressed either. Anyway long story short after 3 years he had actually gone backwards to grades and reading ability, have no drive no work ethic. We pulled them out of the school as soon as the test scores came out. The next problem was the changing of the school environment. It was a nightmare changing schools at his new school he didn't have the freedom to get up out of his desk and walk around and get into anything you wanted to or do whatever he wanted to like he had been allowed to do at Monticello. It probably took 3 or 4 months to make the adjustment. I would only consider sending my child there if they were exceptionally responsible and extremely self-motivated. The advantages they aren't held back in learning by having to move at the slower pace of the entire classroom but they certainly aren't encouraged to make any progress either.
Posted by a parent on 5/3/2016I was glad to get my child out of public school thinking the charter school would have more control on bullying and pay attention to my children needs on school work. It's been a few months bullying is not to bad of an issue still a little doubtful. My child does not bring homework, I don't know if they are learning or just playing around. The test scores are low but I got told they will re-test, I'm still waiting. I like that the doors are locked and it was GREAT seeing that. May is around the corner and im still hoping to see some achievements if not I will be placing my child in a different school.

This school is a joke and the principal doesn't care about the students at allParent Review5y ago - Hillview Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSome of the teachers are wonderful but there are some that act like they are in Jr High. It's a popularity contest among teachers. There are a few particular teachers who are mean to students that aren't the top of the class or the perfectly behaved students. The ones that need extra love. The principal puts on a show. It's all about her! She is very rude and if you don't have a college degree she treats you as if you're inferior. She and some of her staff are very clicky.Parent Review1y ago - Tiebreaker Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have our child in counseling after going to school at Watersprings to help with the trauma the school "leaders" allowed and encouraged. They are no better than public school. In fact the teachers in public school are licensed to teach your kids. At watersprings you have board housewives as teachers. Fact check: ask to see your child's teachers diploma or teaching certificate. You get what you pay for.Parent Review8mo ago - Hope Lutheran School
