my son has been going here for 4 years. We LOVE this school. He had an IEP from an Illinois school when we moved here, he was in second grade. He tested out at preK level for Iowa schools (Illinois school he tested at grade level but towards the bottom). He got so much help from the staff at this
Posted by a parent on 3/20/2015School makes your kids wait for you out in the pouring rain and if for some reason your kid doesnt make it to school you wont here about it until a few hours after school has started definately a school that does not have kids safety as a number one priority. And on a side note this has all taken
Posted by a parent on 9/19/2014Both of my children went through XRDS. It was a great experience for them and us as parents. This is a 3 section per grade school making it one of the smaller schools in the district, and has just undergone a complete remodel in 2010-2011. The PTA is very active and has a great working relationship

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you're looking for a school that offers diversity, but with a better academic record that Des Moines schools, this is it. Crestview is one of 3 elementaries in the West Des Moines school district with the most diversity. We actually sold our house and moved so that our kids could go to this school. I want my kids to get a quality education while experiencing others from different races, cultures, religions, and economic classes. Iowa, overall, is not a highly diverse state (comapred to the rest of the country), so I try to expose my kids to as much diversity as possible. The staff is great, the secretary is SO friendly, the principal is great, and even the Kids West (before and after school program) staff are the best! NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll four of our children have attended or are currently attending Montessori Children's House, and we would recommend the school to any family. The teachers at MCH are absolute experts who do an amazing job helping the children grow to achieve their full potential. The teachers also provide love and support to the children and make MCH a place children look forward to going to. The staff and administration are also wonderful. The community at MCH is something you don't find other places, and it's nice to know that the other families are very involved, with everyone working together for our children.Parent Review1y ago
