We absolutely loved Bloomer, the teachers and the staff. Leaving Bloomer is the worst part of moving.

All 3 of my kids have gone through Edison. My youngest is a 4th grader there currently. We've had a kid at that school for going on 11 years now. Every person we've interacted with at Edison, from the teachers, school nurse, secretary, clubs teachers, principal, even custodian Andrew... have all had a positive impact on our kids' lives. We consider our family so blessed to have had our kids elementary experiences be able to be at Edison.

Very uneducated staff and leadership regarding special needs, emotional regulation, mental health, medical needs. Sub par policies re:bullying. Principal is only concerned with keeping numbers up, not the actual emotional or mental health of students. Diverted parental concerns on many occasions, dodging state and federal law regarding equal education and IDEA. Children would get hurt at recess and parents are never notified. Staff would call children names for speaking up against bullying or unsafe behavior. Several times when picking up child for appointment, different child with similar name was brought to office. Attendance is glorified regardless of health. Security of school is questionable. Support staff is unkind amd inappropriate with students with special needs. School brags about sensory accommodations but rarely implements and has zero understanding of modern neurodivergent research. Our child was behind an entire grade level and principal insisted that they still be moved up to next grade. We moved from the city because of the principals negligence with our children.

We are very thankful for the positive experience our children have had at Longfellow Elementary School. We’ve seen strong growth not only in math, but also in social studies, word work, writing, and overall confidence. The teachers are supportive, caring, and truly dedicated to student success. We appreciate being part of such a wonderful school community.

I believe the school has great standards. This includes Family, Faith,.and Christian values that are important to my family.
