Read what parents are saying about Thomas Jefferson High SchoolJust had a student graduate from Jefferson. It's a great school. "GreatSchools.org" fails miserably at properly measuring the impact on their metrics when you have a school with a diverse set of students and needs, including Jefferson's amazing support of students with disabilities. The teachers at Jefferson truly care about your student when they show an interest in being at school, learning and participating. Jefferson excels at fine arts (wonderful new Band directors starting this year, and two fantastic choral directors as well as a solid theater department). Jefferson has also won the state academic decathlon 23 years straight and won the nationals in 2022 - following up in a higher division in 2023 with a 6th place finish. Several recent grads have earned full-ride scholarships to prestigious colleges around the country. Ignore the rating, it's bogus. Jefferson is a great school with great students, faculty and staff.
Posted by a parent on 7/3/2023This is a good high school to send your kids. I recommend.
Posted by a parent on 2/25/2019They need better teachers. Some teachers miss a lot of work days causing students not to learn at their fullest.
Posted by a parent on 6/26/2018Great teachers, a long lasting committment to fine arts and significant upgrades to the facility are all reasons why I chose to raise my family in the Jefferson district. My wife as served as a substitute in the school and also interacts with several students throguh a private music lesson studio she operates. Located in a solid, safe working class neighborhood, this school is full of down-to-earth, hard working and smart students.Jefferson, Kennedy and Washington all provide an excellent, well-rounded education, and we're excited to be part of raising third-generation J-Hawks!
Posted by a community member on 8/21/2015Jefferson has always had a proud tradition of excellence and high standards for the westside community. The school is currently going through a face lift and is poising itself to be among the elite schools in the city and state for the coming years.

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal is the worst. Every time my daughter was harassed. It was her fault. We fell for her lies for months. Then we find out that they withheld certain information from us. Then when we decided to move a her to a different school. She tells us that it can't be done and that we were being childish. Within the month we got my daughter out of that school. Then the same principal decides to give us the silent treatment. Sounds pretty childish to me. My daughter has improved in her new school. She enjoys it. She is happy and is learning much more then cleveland elementary could ever teach her.Parent Review1y ago - Harrison Elementary School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has had both good and bad experiences at this school. The bad, however, outweighs the good. He has wet his pants when a teacher refused to let him go to the restroom. He has been bullied. He hasn't learned anything this school year because the teacher has no control over his classroom. I've spoken with the new principal about moving my son to a different teacher this year and was told no. The principal is new as of last month so is unaware of the plans and actions previously in place to help this teacher and because he hasn't been involved, he basically wants to start from scratch. I'm all for the teacher learning and growing but my son is not being provided the same opportunity. I will be moving my son to a different school.Parent Review4mo ago - Lasalle Middle School - Holy Family

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children love school! Trinity has been an uplifting experience for my children. We transferred in from public school and haven’t looked back since. The teachers and administration are in tune with the needs of the students and make the most out of the time they have together. We would HIGHLY recommend Trinity Lutheran School to anyone thinking about private school!Parent Review5y ago
