If Jesus would have lunch with you, you aren't welcome here. Tax collectors, sinners, Samaritans need not apply. This is a great school for parents who want their children educated in a bubble of people just like themselves. They provide a Biblical role model for all students, if that role model is the Pharisee model. And, sure, that's in the Bible, too.Prospective families should check the school's core values page. I have no problem with their statements of beliefs. I can sign on with most of those beliefs. What I cannot sign onto is the last paragraph, which states that you are not welcome in their club if you disagree with ANY part of the school's stated doctrines, many of which are not CORE Christian values. (Ask yourself: What does it mean to be a Christian? Anything else is not core.)This is NOT the gospel. This is legalism. My child will be better exposed to Jesus' gospel in a public school, where he is encouraged to love people who are different from himself.Administration and Board will have to repent of this policy before I can recommend this school to any of my diversity-valuing friends or family.

Small class sizes. Caring instructors. However, middle school math instruction is very poor. Most students in middle school are also having to go to a math tutor. School leadership and board are aware of the problem. However, they have chosen the school budget over their students. "Students are well behind their public and private school peers in math. " That's an actual quote from a tutor that works with many of the students in math.

This school provides a Christian education. Academically speaking the school is adequate in most subject areas except math. The middle school math instruction at this school currently is inadequate. As an example roughly 5 out of a total of 7 8th grade students are currently being tutored in math outside of the school. This is due to a lack of quality middle school math instruction. The school leadership is aware of the inadequacies in the subject area. However, students are currently paying the consequence due to a lack of adequate action being taken. It's very unfortunate. I recommend being wise and checking out references and background on teachers before making a decision on your school choice.

This is a Christ centered school with high standards in all academic areas!

SSCS has been such a blessing for our family! It is challenging academically, but the low student/teacher ratio helps my kids get highest honors. They also have had so many opportunities to shine, whether through math olympics or art, which helps their self confidence. The teachers pray with the students daily, and my kids feel safe and validated. I highly recommend you tour and see for yourself!
