I am extremely disappointed with the way Bloomingdale Elementary has handled my daughter’s safety transfer.A safety transfer was submitted for my daughter, and the principal initially denied it. After I raised concerns and it became clear that the school did not have the authority to deny the transfer, the situation still has not been resolved. Now, despite knowing the circumstances and the severity of what my daughter is experiencing, the school has failed to put transportation in place so that she can actually attend the school safely.I have repeatedly explained how serious this situation is and the impact this ongoing uncertainty is having on my daughter. She is experiencing significant emotional distress, and this situation has contributed to a mental health crisis for her. Instead of working with us quickly and appropriately, I feel like we are being passed around and that the school is unnecessarily delaying a solution.Parents should not have to repeatedly fight for their child’s safety or beg a school to follow through on a transfer that has already been determined to be necessary. Transportation should not be used as a barrier after the school has been made fully aware of the circumstances.I expected communication, urgency, and compassion from the administration. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. My daughter deserves to feel safe at school, and I am extremely frustrated that something this serious is being handled this way.

I’ve been volunteering here for several years. The teachers and staff seem very supportive. The big negative is the building itself. It is old, dark and depressing. The children and staff deserve better.

look at the test scores. another generation of low iq students. cant even meet the state average here. with a student to tewcher ratio of 1/14. these kids should be getting straight A’s. this is a glorified baby sitting service

I attended this school from 5th to 8th grade. Those were some of the best years of my life. All the teachers and staff really care about not only the students' education, but also their emotional, spiritual, and relational experiences. The low student-teacher ratio allows teachers to give each student the attention they need to thrive. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the hands-on curriculum keeps kids engaged and active in their learning. I also attended AAA in my 9th-grade year on campus with a few of my graduation peers. SACS provided a facilitator and a room for us high schoolers as a satellite campus for AAA. We were involved in both SACS events and AAA events during 9th grade. SACS is a school for families. I personally believe it was one of the best decisions my parents made for my education.
