Recently I have pulled my three children out of this Academy. My kids have been coming home with increasingly concerning comments that I feel like everyone should be made aware of. My eldest daughter has told me that two or three male members of the faculty have acted or made inappropriate comments about her and other girls in her grade. Comments about how much skin they were showing, (Very little) to outright staring at her and making her uncomfortable in class. One teacher went as far as to ask her to remain behind after school and work on a paper that she had very much completed with my supervison already. When I couldn't see my daughter waiting to be picked up I went in and found her in her classroom crying. After this incident my husband and I decided we would be dealing witht the school board and asking them to investigate the teachers involve.

We love sending our kids to JMA. It is a safe environment with Christian staff who focus on education and growth of our children. We couldn't be happier with our experiences at JMA!

John Milledge offers a safe, caring environment for students to thrive. My child has been there for 4 years and we have been pleased with the education he receives. He is looking forward to challenging AP and Dual Enrollment classes. As a parent, I am pleased to see their college attendance rate and test scores are competitive with other institutions in the state. My student has a diverse class with wonderful parental support.

John Milledge Academy offers a good education in a stable setting and at an affordable price. 45 years after its founding, JMA grads attend Georgia, Georgia Southern, Georgia College and State University and many more. A college prep base, Honors and AP classes including dual enrollment with GCSU give JMA students what they need to succeed in a university setting.

After a stimulating course in "football geography" , I left. The coaches teach courses and are not qualified. JMA charges you tuition and you pay GCSU for joint enrollment. I had to fight to gain access to higher learning at the time(1996) , as the admin ad JMA did not want us to participate in joint enrollment. While there are a few good educators at JMA most are not worthy of mention and should be removed from the position of mentor-ship of children as they promote sports over a quality education and motivation to learn. As an aside there is an utter lack of diversity at this institution which is not representative of the community. I do not enjoy knocking a school i attended for close to 11 years down, but in this instance I would prefer that the individuals reading this recognize that within the area you are seeking to educate your children you will likely find better educators, more challenging courses and the ability to send your kid to college for free at the age of 15 by attending BHS and not this pretentious institution. Please allow your children a chance at a diversified and effective curriculum at a public school. -phdcandidate
