It is horrible it stinks in the hallway and my son said the teacher had said he wont make it to the NFL just because it's rare he is only 7

My experience with Oakland was wonderful! My son transferred from and out of state Montessori school, Kindergarten, and I was worried about his transitioning into a public school. But it went smoothly. His teacher was very warm and helpful towards him. His next year, 1st grade, was even more amazing for him. His teacher taught them how to tell time on an Analogue clock, and of course many other subjects. But I thought that was so amazing, as they really don't teach that anymore. Plus, I loved the Black History assembles and the whole ambiance of family. Our experience was great. To each there own.

Terrible school likes to discipline children who have special needs

As a parent, I strongly caution other families before enrolling in this school.We enrolled our son expecting a solid Christian education with academic rigor, structure, and proper support for students with an IEP. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of that.Academically, we did not see the level of rigor or preparation we expected for students to succeed long-term. There were very limited elective or enrichment opportunities, and we were concerned that student performance was not always accurately reflected in grading.As a parent of a student with an IEP, one of our biggest concerns was that we were denied requested IEP meetings. This made it impossible for us to properly review his progress, ensure accommodations were being followed, or advocate effectively for his educational needs.We also observed and overheard comments from staff that raised serious concerns about the environment students are in on a daily basis.Because of these issues, we made the difficult decision to withdraw our son. We are now working to address academic gaps as he transitions back into public school.We encourage any parent considering this school to ask very direct questions about academic standards, grading practices, elective offerings, teacher qualifications, and how special education services are handled in practice—not just in policy.Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this school.

My daughter started at MMA in 4K, and let me tell you—this school is an absolute gem!Warm and welcoming, affordable, academically supportive, engaging, and Christ-centered… and the staff? Simply the BEST.Her teachers have truly been an extension of me, consistently encouraging and challenging her to become the best version of herself.The front office team goes above and beyond every single day—with genuine smiles and servant hearts.This place doesn’t just feel like a school—it is family. In fact, I joined the staff just a year after my daughter started! Now, she’s headed into third grade, and the love, support, and connection in this community have only grown stronger.At MMA, we feel safe, seen, valued, loved, and empowered—every single day.This school is more than a campus—it’s a village, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.MMA for the W!
