Grace Snell Middle School

My main issue with this school has been with the front office staff, both during events and at other times. There has been an instance where I truly felt that race played a factor in how I was treated, which is very concerning. (And other parents sharing my race) I believe everyone should be treated fairly and equally, but I have noticed that rules are not applied consistently and seem to be enforced selectively.I am also a very non-confrontational person, so feeling singled out or mistreated as a parent who is simply involved and cares about her children is both confusing and upsetting.My oldest son has attended this school for the past two years, where he has excelled and was accepted into the gifted program. My younger son, currently in kindergarten, has also excelled and was accepted into the gifted program. Their time and growth at this school are very important to me.I do appreciate that the school offers enjoyable PTA events, and the teachers have always communicated well with me.Aside from my concerns with the front office staff, I am happy with the education my children are receiving.

I am a mother who grew up in an underfunded public school. This experience made me want to homeschool my children to ensure they are getting the best attention and education. Well, when it became time to enroll in kindergarten I checked out Rosebud and was thoroughly impressed by how well maintained the school was as well as many of the faculty and staff. My son has now been going to the school since kindergarten and had the most amazing teacher for entering school: Mrs. Squires!! She certainly challenged the kids and had lots of homework but it was all worth it in the end. Mrs. Squires always said she wanted her kindergarteners to be at second grade level leaving her class. I thought this was an amazing approach. The following two years were okay. However this year of third grade, his set of teachers are once again, PHENOMENAL. Principal Holmes, seems to care greatly about the performance of the cohorts moving through her school which is also highly appreciated. If you are on the fence about elementaries in the Gwinnett area this is not one to be concerned about.

Excellent!!! We have enjoyed all the middle school years here. This school allows children to be children. All the kids still seem to have their innocence and seem very happy!

This is PJ's mom. I love this school. I don't know about the other schools because it was my baby's first school year, and I am thankful and glad I chose it. My baby has learned how to count, the colors, shapes, his ABCs and how to pray and he's just 2 years old. Thank you GCA. PJ is coming back and he's bringing 2 cousins with him.

I want to make it very clear that my experience with this so-called “school” has been extremely disappointing. Please do not confuse it with Trinity Prep School in Florida—there is absolutely no comparison between the two.After only two weeks, I was told directly that they could not help my child. My child has an IEP through the state, and because the funding was not going to be transferred the way the school wanted, they literally dismissed him and said he could not return. They gave no time for the process to take place, no effort to work with us, and no consideration for my child’s needs.Parents, if you are considering this school, I urge you to think twice. If you knew a bridge was out ahead, you would warn others—that is why I’m sharing my experience. This is a “for profit” organization, and while I understand that business is business, it has become painfully clear that profit comes before children. Do not be misled by the claims that this is a Christian or faith-based environment. In practice, it is anything but.

The school overall is beautiful exactly what you’d expect a Montessori school to be however it is abundantly clear if your child isn’t independent and neurotypical your child will not be accepted. For a school that receives special needs funding it was disappointing not to hear more of how children with special needs are supported vs how much they may not be a fit for the environment.
