Read what parents are saying about Lilburn Elementary SchoolWe had two children attend this school. They needed some emotional support throughout the school year and the school provided just that. Our kids really thrived and enjoyed their teachers. The school is diverse and does a great job at teaching students about the different cultures present within the school. This is a Gwinnett County hidden gem!!!
Posted by a parent on 6/21/2023As someone who has worked at this school, it is an extremely overcrowded school. Classroom sizes are too large to reach all students. Almost 30 kids in a classroom. The school uses students in these title 1 schools as Guinea pigs to test, money grab curriculums on that’s far too advanced for them. Students are not learning what they should, traditionally. The school leaders are only concerned about lining their pockets via your child. They will often have walkthroughs in the classroom with board members to see how their experiment is coming along. Students are always put on display like they’re some kind of project. It’s a very hostile place to work at. The admin of the school are known to run off teachers. They will lie in every way they can to get rid of good teachers. They will keep you in the dark about your concerns and slowly plan ways to get you to leave. Everything they do is going to be counterproductive in succeeding .I would not recommend this school to work at or attend. Too many unethical things run rampant there.
Posted by a parent on 12/5/2022My kids has only been there 1 year, but I’m really glad we made the transfer. He’s really enjoyed it, and I really like his teachers. The teachers seem to love being there.
Posted by a parent on 2/23/2020I have Asked to visit the school just to see what's goes on. I am from up north we visit the school time to time. I got grilled for wanting to come asking why would I want to do that. It will be disruptive I don't understand how. Then my kids came home with no homework I ask why & then they start getting homework unrelated to the work they was doing in school so we had to have school at home in order for them to do they homework. I write notes on the weekly report but no response so she must be ignoring what I write. But every week write your child behavior was great this week, did not know I sign him into obedience school. What is he learning where is the feed back. Don't like this school just move down south and this is by far one of the worst school i ever seen and I work with schools. I guess this school is filled with them teacher in college we called fall back. Which means if all fails become a teacher.
Posted by a parent on 3/31/2015Carla is extremely disrespectful and I'm still waiting for her to fix my child's name that she registered incorrectly. I was told I could not go meet my daughter's teacher because it was "disruptive". I have called several times to try to schedule a meeting with the teacher, asst principal and principal. Its been almost a week and no one will call me back. I've left notes in my child's agenda with my contact information and asked to schedule a meeting time and im obviously being ignored. This school apparently does not welcome any parent involvement. But of course they want you to pay PTA dues. What a joke! Its scary thay I'm required by law to leave my child with someone who will not meet parents. Superintendent Reed only apologizes and obviously isn't concerned since nothing has been resolved. Really sad I have to go this far up in rank just to be able to meet a teacher. This school is a huge disappointment. Wish I could give a negative star review

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy sons right to a free education was violated. The principal and assistant principal do not support religious views or children with ADHD. Anytime I tried to advocate for my son I was met with resistance and retaliation. I asked for his work for a week he missed due to religious opposition, prior to his absence. I was denied his work. The assistant principal flat out lied about services that were available for my son’s disability. IEP meeting took almost two months to happen. Testing takes 60 days. IThe assistant principal takes everything as a personal attack and retaliates by harassing phone calls and paper trails. She exaggerates and jumps to conclusions completely over stepping. She uses intimidation tactics. She even lied to another parent about my child not knowing the parent is my neighbor and friend. The parent contacted me immediately and said, “I think they are trying to railroad your son.” My son is 7. At that point I pulled my son from the school to homeschool because I felt his safety was at risk. His self confidence was being effected. Bullies is a good word I would give to the principal and assistant principal. What the sad part is the teachers are AMAZING! The leadership needs to be changed and I think Arcado could be great, again!Parent Review5mo ago - Hopkins Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended Hopkins from 2005 to 2009 and am a community member now, and I can confidently say the school has come such an incredibly long way in meeting the needs of its families, and Principal Zaragoza is an extremely kind and compassionate leader who takes the time to get to know the students and their families.Parent Review1y ago - Minor Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey are very family oriented , very nice school building , teachers are excited to learn. My 5 yr old is autistic and they took care of her needs very fast and had and sad classroom for her particular needs but was super supportive along the way. My 5th grade has been on honor roll this year, loves her teacher me. Coleman , has scored very high in all of her milestones and has been apart of the many clubs this school offers, last but not least it is safe and that one of the biggest factors for me. I don’t understand why the scores are slow low , great schools need to update.Parent Review3mo ago - Rockbridge Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur four children have greatly benefited from the academics and culture of Killian Hill Christian School. The mission of KHCS is to partner with parents for the education of their child/children, and the staff and administration truly follow that mission. We are thankful that our two oldest children who were enrolled from K5 through graduation, are currently at college and our other two children are currently in secondary school at KHCS. The teachers take time to ensure that their students have a variety of academic opporutnities all taught with a biblical worldview. Other opportunities that are taught and available allow students leadership opportunities as well as expanded experiences through fine arts, athletics, clubs, trips, and friendships.Parent Review1mo ago - Greater Atlanta Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe reason GAC’s AP scores “far surpass” those of other schools is because GAC doesn’t allow any kid to take the course. If they take the course, they’re required to take the test; however, students must meet specific benchmarks to gain entry to the course (high score on PSAT reading for example).. Public schools don’t screen. They allow whoever wants to take the course and then the exam to do so. And the College Board supports this because they think the exposure to college level courses is important for ALL kids. So, when looking at scores, you can’t compare without knowing this information. If you only allow the smartest kids to take AP courses, then of course the test scores will be higher.Parent Review4mo ago
