Posted by a parent on 9/18/2018Always lived in Clayton county. When moving the one thing that concern me as a parent is education/school. Parents it you are feeling uneasy, rest yourself because this is an excellent school. I believe that it starts with the head and trickle down to the staff. The principle Mrs. Cannion is the head and she is concern for our children education, involvement, as well as caring. The staff at E.J. Swint is excellent. Parents do your part because the school is on point. "Kudos to E.J. Swint Elementary!"
Posted by a parent on 6/1/2015This school is absolutely great. I always compare my children's academic progress to my associates in Gwinnett and Fayette and our children are all on the same page. Great school! Up and coming county. I think it is a winner.
Posted by a parent on 12/3/2014Relocating and introducing my children to a new school was such a big worry for me. Being judgmental, I was skeptical about E.J. Swint but to my surprise it is an excellent school. The teachers aren't just there for a paycheck. They are actually concerned and involved in the education and well being of their students. In some schools, the children are just a number but at E.J. Swint they actually know each child by name. The teachers and staff aren't afraid to get on the children's level and interact with them. They are passionate about what they teach and making a positive impact on the children. One thing I will say, the school needs to better organize notification of events and special programs going on at the school. Other than that, I am proud to to say the Peoples Family is proud to be apart of the E.J. Swint Family.

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDefinitely lacking resources and support especially with the special needs classrooms. Don't get me wrong some of the teachers in general ed were great since I had kids in both but this school needs a lot of work. I felt that the special needs classrooms weren't included enough and one of the issues was because of the teacher not wanting to give things a try. Administration not trying enough for our children that need extra support and that goes hand on hand with the lack of support from the county as well. An instance where my son fell and hit his head and I was never given a call "because I didn't have your phone number". There were occasions were I felt my son was being discriminated because of his disability and wasn't given a fair chance at trying new things such as the bookfair or playground. We left the school when we had the chance and my son is now thriving at his new school in a new county.Parent Review2mo ago - Harper Elementary School
