I have 3 graduates, one sophomore, and two more on their way to this high school. I will happily debate anyone with a negative review of this high school. What a shame on the negative reviews. I would submit that the parents obviously did not even go to the school as my Senior DID get prep for SAT and a ton of advice and a great plan for college. She starts college Fall 2017 on a full ride scholarship- as a parent I took the time to stay informed

Do not expect your high schooler to be properly prepared for college at GHS. The teachers and administration are purely interested in students getting passing test scores. I feel like GHS has really been headed in the right direction for the past two years. The teachers and students really seem to have a common goal and are working to be the best they can be. Classes are more structured and the student body really seems to understand what is expected of them.

I went to gilmer for only 1 year (freshman) then went to private schools. For elementary and middle school I went to a private school. And the change was crazy. This school is a bully magnet. And the teachers are only rated 3 out of 10. I really didn't like going to gilmer and I really couldn't wait
