I love this school it is the best and order what ever you want to do yo have to earn it. by that you have to be repectful

As a used to be student of Pataula Charter Academy, I can honestly say this school had an extremely negative impact on my mental health and overall well-being. My experience there became so overwhelming and stressful that it eventually led me to starting therapy, and my family ultimately moved to an entirely different state. That alone should say something about how damaging the environment felt to me personally.The school feels outdated in almost every possible way. Many teachers seem completely disengaged from actual teaching, and classes often feel repetitive, uninspired, and more focused on getting through worksheets than helping students genuinely learn. Middle school students are reportedly still stuck rotating through basically the same two classrooms every day, which makes the environment feel cramped, monotonous, and draining.The gym policies make no sense either. Students reportedly are not required to dress out for PE, which creates obvious hygiene issues when students sweat during activities and then sit in classrooms for the rest of the day. It’s uncomfortable and honestly gross.What made things worse was how bullying and harassment were handled. In my experience, administration too often dismissed serious issues and responded with things like “just ignore it” instead of actually addressing the behavior. Students should not have to beg adults to take harassment seriously. A school is supposed to protect students, not make them feel invisible.And the fact that paddling students is still allowed with parent permission in 2026 is unbelievable. Most schools moved away from that years ago, yet this school still clings to outdated discipline methods that make the environment feel unnecessarily harsh and stuck in the past.The dress code is also ridiculously strict for no reason. Students spend eight hours a day there and are constantly monitored over appearance instead of schools focusing on actual education or student well-being. The atmosphere feels controlling rather than supportive.Overall, my experience at Pataula Charter Academy was deeply disappointing and emotionally exhausting. Instead of feeling encouraged or supported, I felt stressed, dismissed, and mentally drained. For me personally, it became an environment that negatively affected my mental health far beyond what a school ever should.do better.
