South Paulding Middle School

Based on my experience with another middle school in Paulding County! I really can't say enough about SPMS!!! From the front office to the classroom they try every day to make my child's middle school experience a positive one. Multiple times they have gone above and beyond to find solutions to any issues we might have had. I'm excited about the next two years!

My daugter has been at this school going on her third year. She makes straight A's and does just fine at this school. Some of the teachers could be better but all in all its good for a public school.

This will be my daughters third year at SPMS. My child is in supposed Advanced classes. She has to write down her homework everyday and have teachers initial (because she chronically forgets). The first two or three months they had one or two assignments per week. This dwindled rapidly and by the end of the year she would go WEEKS without having an assignment in any of her academic classes. I'm not a teacher maybe there is something I don't know, but in my opinion, this is kind of lazy. I will not call anyone out, but I was told that "Administration tells teachers to give them a passing grade to just get them through." I also have a huge problem with Classroom control. I see videos the kids are taking of each other laughing and being disruptive in class and then posting on FB. For the life of me, I don't understand why the teachers allow them to be so loud and disruptive while they are teaching. It almost seems like many are burnt out and don't care. If I could afford private school, that is where they would be.

So, some parents think bulling goes unnoticed? Maybe because their kid IS the bully. On the whole the school has been fine. I have had no problems with communication, or any thing else. Mrs Webb has always called me back, and the teachers have always responded in a timely manner.

Im a student at SPMS. I dont like it that much at all. Last year a known trouble maker threatened to shoot another and all they did about it was give the student 3 days ISS. You cant even have your phone out at lunch or you get it taken up and 3 days in ISS, or even if a teacher even sees it in your pocket!!! On the other hand most teachers are good.
